Duwell gave an upside look on the mound on Saturday night. Easy mover with a simple, effortless delivery. Lively fastball that jumped out of the hand, sitting 83-85, T86 mph early. Used a low-70’s change-up with gradual fade as an out pitch. Scattered three hits throughout five innings of work. Strong 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame.

Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, 3/4 slot.

CB: 74-76 mph. 11/5 shape, tight break. T1902, 1785 average rpm.
CH: 79-80 mph. Same shape as fastball, maintains slot and arm speed. T1927, 1873 average rpm.

RHP Mesfin Duwell (Lyons Township, 2024) showed a raw, projectable pitch mix in Lockport on Monday that should put him on the radar following his PBR event debut. There, Duwell – a wiry, lean 6-foot-2, 186-pound righty – sat in the low-80s (82.6 mph high) with a fastball that projects well, featuring above-average spin and horizontal break for its velocity and his age. His size and loose, easy arm action combine to create a projectable follow profile for the sophomore.
