St. Xavier commit. Mastoras recorded three hits on the week with five runs scored, four walks and two stolen bases. He recorded two saves on the week with two punchouts, no earned runs, in 1.1 innings of work.

Saint Xavier commit. 6-foot, 180-pound frame with proportional strength. Hit second and started at shortstop for the Porters. Balanced in the box, simple back hand load, short stride. Strong quick hands, level bat path, stayed on plane, worked on the barrel in a few plate appearances. Doubled in this game and drew a walk, plating a run and scoring himself. Impressed defensively in this look. Fluid feet, quick first step, ranges well laterally and works around the baseball in rhythm. Soft hands, quick to release with a present internal clock and comfort throwing from multiple arm angles. Capable of sticking up the middle at the next level. High energy and motor player that’s a leader for this Lockport squad. 

Right-handed hitting middle-infielder. 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a strong lower half. Played second base and had a big offensive day out of the nine-hole. Finished 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, an RBI and stolen base. Hit a ground ball to left field in his first at-bat and turned it into a hustle double. Thought two out of the box, zero hesitation and was 4.42 on the turn. Plays with a high-motor. Wide setup at the plate, strong, quick hands, stays through the zone a long time. Smooth, athletic defender at second base, soft hands and clean release. Arm plays easy and from multiple angles, comfortably throwing from a low ¾ slot. Follow 2023 middle infielder who has plenty of arm for the left-side of the diamond.

Hit: RHH. Athletic look, wide base with balance, smooth load, short stride.  Strong hands, direct to the baseball, jumps off the barrel at times, uses the whole field.

Arm: RH. INF - 86 mph. Long arm action. Natural high 3/4 with the ability to throw from multiple arm slots.
Defense: Quick feet. Soft hands. Advanced actions on the infield.

INF Niko Mastoras (Lockport, 2023) was one of the top infielders from the event. He showcased a strong arm and smooth, advanced actions during his round of infield. His best tool was his arm, as his throws played with carry to his target at an 86 mph max while also working from multiple slots. He showed quick feet and soft hands with advanced feel for himself on the infield. Mastoras’ athleticism translated to the batter’s box, as his average hand speed (24.5 mph) and average bat speed (71.5 mph) were amongst the day’s best. He used the whole field during BP and the ball occasionally jumped off his barrel with a direct path to contact.

Defense: Defends with a bounce and energy; athletic approach. One-hand gather, low to the ground, hands flash soft touch. Length in transfer, shuffle through exchange.

Hit: RHH. Wide/balanced, athletic setup; hands set low, in a rhythm. Hands load back while lead leg strides long to even landing. Short, simple, efficient bat path; averaged 23.5 mph of hand speed, per Blast. Line-drive approach.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.24 runner in the 60.

Hit: RHH. Open setup, bat wraps, leg lift timing trigger, long stride.  Loose, quick hands, bat stays level through the zone, steady line drive contact.
Power: 79 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF - 70 mph. Short, loose arm action, low 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic in the field, patient to the baseball, hands play under center, long to release at times, plays through the baseball.
Run: 7.55 runner in the 60.
