True Sophomore. Formerly ranked No. 71 in Illinois’ 2021 class. A top returning bat for the Hawks; recorded a .459 batting average last year with 21 doubles, four triples, 18 home runs, 81 RBIs, 63 runs scored, 34 walks and swiped seven bases on eight attempts. The left-handed hitter took one of the more impressive rounds of BP on the day using all fields and reaching up to 100.3 mph for his max exit velocity with a 83% hard-hit rate. Showed some high-level BLAST metrics as well; reaching up to 25.3 for his max hand-speed, 81.3 for max bat-speed and 27.3 for max rotational acceleration. Showed accuracy across the infield from a sidearm slot. Ran a 7.05 in the 60-yard dash.

Hit: LHH. Quiet in the box, balanced setup, front leg lifts up then hands draw back.  Strong hands and wrists with bat speed, short bat path with natural elevation through contact, gap-to-gap approach. Consistently on the barrel, hard contact to the pull-side, hits in rhythm.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Middle-of-the-order thumper profile. Max exit speed of 93.02 mph with an average exit speed of 88.03 mph in BP, per TrackMan.
Arm: LH. INF - 71 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic feet that field in rhythm, soft hands that play out front, smooth exchange to a clean release, natural feel around the bag.
Run: 7.32 runner in the 60. 

Uncommitted. Ranked No. 67 in Illinois. 5-foot-10, 190-pound, durable left-handed hitter, strung a number of good at-bats together over the weekend. Atkinson showed some of the best bat speed we have seen out of him. Facing a tough left/left matchup, Atkinson, was consistently on time with the fastball, took a number of aggressive, controlled swings and looks the part of a potential middle-of-the-order bat with pull-side power.

Balanced setup, smooth load, slight leg lift trigger, maintains balanced through contact. Atkinson provided the offense for Dynasty, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two extra-base hits. The left-handed-hitting Atkinson swings a quick bat with some serious pop. High follow in the Illinois 2021 class as he enters his junior season at St. Rita. 

5-foot-10, 170-pound, left-handed hitting/throwing infielder, strong, durable frame. At the plate, balanced, relaxed setup, smooth hand load back, slight leg lift trigger, maintains balance. Loose, strong hands, plane works uphill, feel for the barrel in the zone, easy line drive pop, power potential to all fields, rhythm through contact, repeats. Easy bat speed, exit velocity topped 87 mph from a tee. Defensively, comfortable around the bag, steady hands, feet work in rhythm, exchanges are quick and clean, plays through. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot, throws carried 75 mph across the diamond. 7.71 runner in the 60.

5-foot-10, 170-pound, thick frame,compact strength, left-handed hitting first baseman. Offensively, quiet setup, balanced, short load. Aggressive approach and intent, uphill barrel path, power hitter with pull-side tendency. Hit a ball off the right field wall for a double.

5-foot-10, 170-pound, left/left outfielder with a strong, thick lower half. Recently called up to varsity. Balanced, slightly crouched setup, short stride and gets separation in hands. Easy smooth swing, loose hands, long, uphill bat path. Looks to lift the baseball, ball jumps off barrel, will topspin to the pull side.
