Body: 6-1, 173.3-pounds. Lean, athletic build with projectability.
Delivery: Stretch-only, directional, repeatable delivery. Slight tuck at balance point and minimal effort at foot strikes.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm, plays over-the-top and out front.
FB: T89, 85-89 mph. Lively, mostly straight, occasional tilt down in the zone. T2555, 2400 average rpm.
SL: 74-76 mph. Thrown aggressively, tight late bite, above-average feel. T2798, 2556 average rpm.
CH: 80 mph. Flashed, high spin. T2185, 2185 average rpm.
The 6-foot-1 165-pound center fielder impressed at the plate in the first game, crushing a double deep to left center for two RBIs in the second inning. In the following at-bat, Hoggard roped a line drive down the left field line for a single and finished the day working a six pitch walk. Hoggard’s ability to bring the barrel straight to the ball and ability to turn and barrel the inside pitch is what made him stand out early in the weekend. The lean athletic frame is something to look out for in this class.
Athletic build with projectability, 6-foot-2 with some present strength. Started on the mound for the Rockets and struck out three in four innings of work. Fastball sat 80-83 mph working mostly straight, flashed some arm-side run. Curveball sat 65-68 mph with 11/5 break.
