+ Another uncommitted 2022 worthy of a high-follow from the Indiana Bulls vs Midwest Canes semi-final matchup was RHP Drew Dickson (Zionsville HS, IN), who started on the mound for the Bulls. Dickson has a 6-foot-3, 195-pound, strong, physically-advanced frame and featured an above average three-pitch mix. The arm plays clean, from an over-the-top window with some quickness out front. The fastball came out of the hand easy, worked mostly straight with tilt at the bottom of the zone and topped at 84 mph. Dickson was able to land his curveball for strikes early in counts and showed feel for a straight changeup at 72 mph.
2/23/2019: Drew Dickson, RHP/3B, Zionsville HS, 2022, 6 foot 3, 185 pounds, is an interesting two way prospect with arm speed and bat speed and big projectable frame. On the mound Drew throws from a high slot and medium arm action. Fastball sat 80-81 with some good down angle, and has plenty of room to add more velo down the road. Curveball sat 70-75 and had good down action with 11/5 shape. CH also had good down action and sat 71-73. At the plate Drew uses a high leg kick from an open stance. Gets on plane very well for his age and has plus bat speed for his age as he recorded a max exit velo of 92 mph.
7/24/18: 2nd time seeing the 2022 3B/RHP. Hits from right side, slightly opened up right stance with big leg lift as trigger. Quick bat, hands now load back creating more bat speed. Bat path showed more uphill creating leverage and ability to lift baseballs to the gap. Posted an exit velo of 84. In the field footwork was somewhat choppy, but did play through the baseball. Arm strength across the diamond was78. On the mound pitched from high arm slot. Repeats delivery. Tall to balance point then front hip turn and sit to lower position and drive. FB sat 77-80 T81. Showed improved spin on CB for strikes at 70-75.
6/5/18: Young 2022 3B/RHP with upside. Hits from right side, slightly opened up right stance with big leg lift as trigger. Showed short quick bat, level through the zone and some gap to gap potential. In the field displayed good actions and footwork. Exchange was long to 1B. On the mound showed good tempo from a high 3/4 slot. Drop and drive type of delivery to plate. FB was 76-78 T79. CB showed gradual break at 67-70. CH showed some arm side action at 70.
