Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-foot-9, 140-pound lean frame with room for added strength and size.
Hit: RHH. At the plate shows an athletic stance with a high hand set. Simple stride and gets foot down early in the process with the hands getting good separation. Front hip opens a little early but hands work quickly through the zone. Bat speed and hand strength are both developing tools.
Power: 72 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. OF-77 mph. High ¾ arm slot with long and loose arm action.
Defense: In the outfield does a good job of attacking the ball with good rhythm. Uses a step-behind shuffle crow hop. Fields the ball out in front of the body with developing glove action. Pulls arm down well which gives the throws good trajectory and carry.
Run: 4.36 runner from home to first.
Delivery: Slow tempoed and smooth delivery. Does a good job of repeating the delivery. Gets to good balance point and drives off the back leg with good direction towards the plate. Hides the ball well behind the body.
Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with shorter arm action on the hand break.
FB: 72-74 mph, mostly straight action and likes to work it at the top of the zone.
CH: 68-69 mph, slight arm side fade with mostly downward breaking action.
Justin De La Rosa: OF/RHP, (2024) Olathe North, KS. 5-foot-9, 133-pound slim frame. At the plate, De la rosa's best exit velocity was 69 mph. Starts in a tall open stance with a small load, then uses a controlled stride before his swing. Had some bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. He found some barrels during his rounds. Line drive approach. Shows some confidence from the outfield, displays the ability to throw at velocities up to 74 mph; had a clean exchange, firm hands and developing footwork. Used a high ¾ slot with a long arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.47.
