2016 All-AVCTL-IV - 1st Team
7/12/16 - Postlethwait is a 6-foot-4 205-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2017 class.  He ran a 7.70 60 and a 4.48 home-to-first.  He has a 90 mph exit velo.  At the plate, balanced set up, controlled leg lift, level bat path through the zone, solid consistent contact during batting practice to the middle of the field, flashed pull power.  On the infield, 76 mph across the infield, 78 mph at 1B, high three quarters release, fields ball in position ready to throw, gains ground to 1B after catch, mostly accurate throws, loose arm action, moves well at 1B, athletic footowork, soft hands. On the mound, Postlethwait has an over the top release, throws with some effort, filled up the zone with a three-pitch mix, fastball at 80-82, touching 84 mph, consistently down in the zone, flashed a 11-to-5 with sluve action breaking pitch at 68-72 mph, late movement, change up at 70-73 mph, sinking action, big frame with loose arm action.
6/28/16 - Postlethwait is an athletic and slender framed right handed pitcher and third baseman in Kansas’ 2017 class. On the mound, Postlethwait’s delivery is easy, simple and repeatable. He throws from an over the top arm arm slot, has good direction and has an athletic, repeatable finish. Fastball ranged from 79-82 with good downward action, changeup was 66-72 with good action and his curveball showed good life, sharp bite with 11/5 shape, and was thrown with good arm speed between 64-78 mph. During game action, Postlethwait mixed speeds well at the knees which resulted in numerous ground ball outs. Defensively, the footwork was fluid and he has a positional velo of 76 mph. At the plate during bp, Postlethwait showed good rhythm, a leg kick, loose hands, a pull approach during bp and an exit velo of 89 mph. 7.69 60 yard dash and 4.76 home to first.
2015 All-AVCTL-II - 2nd Team

6/2/15 - Nathan is a 6'4 195-pound right hand hitting corner infielder and a right handed pitcher from Valley Center. Good hands and approach to fielding with easy and athletic actions. Makes accurate throws with good arm action and some carry and is able to move side to side and keep his feet under him with a top positional velo of 80 mph. Is athletic and maintains balance through his swing and has loose hands and a middle of the field approach with some loft to his swing and a 82 mph exit velo. Is athletic and tall on the mound with an easy repeatable delivery and high 3/4 arm slot. With easy effort and good arm action and some life on his fastball which ranged from 77-79 mph in game with a max fastball of 81 mph and a short downward breaking ball at 68-71 mph which can be a good pitch for him.

11/2/14 - Postlethwait is a physically impressive 6-foot-4, 195-pound right-handed pitcher and right-hand hitting corner infielder. Balanced set-up at the plate, leg kick, minimal hand load, inline stride, works middle-oppo, 77 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. During defensive work fielded the ball cleanly, three quarters arm slot, easy arm, 80 mph throwing velocity. Strong, accurate throws. On the mound starts deliberate and under control. Tall balance point, picks up tempo, slight drop/drive, three-quarters arm action, easy arm, arm works, excellent body control throughout delivery. Gets out front and works the bottom of the zone. Fastball with sinking action down, 77-79 mph, topped out at 81. Breaking ball with 11/5 shape, 68-71 mph. Feel for change-up with arm side run, 73-74 mph. Highly projectable class of 2017 pitching prospect with body control, an easy arm and much more in the tank velocity wise.
9/15/14 - Postlethwait possesses a projectable pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds.  He showed a balanced delivery and throws from a three quarters slot.  He has an easy arm and worked in the high 70’s but, clearly, there is much more in the tank velocity-wise.  Postlethwait's command has improved since we saw him in the summer and he has the ability to square up the catcher on the glove side black with his fastball, a rarity among young high school pitchers.  In addition, he moves well and made some athletic defensive plays on the mound.  He’s a strong follow in the Kansas class of 2017.
