Physical: Compact, athletic 5-foot-10, 170lb frame with command of his arsenal and above-average confidence on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the far left side of the rubber using quick pace in the delivery; slight pause at the side rocker and top of the stack before dropping/driving down the slope with athleticism into footstrike. Extremely repeatable operation and released on-time from an OTT slot. The FB ranged from 83-85 mph with good carry and strike throwing abilities; T19 inches IVB and 56% zone rate (via Trackman). Mixed a harder and shorter 74-76 mph CB with occasional depth and dropped in a strikeout, 76-78 mph SL that swept across the plate up to 8 inches of HM. Then countered with a smooth CH at 74-77 mph (1264 rpms, 6 inches HM) as a more than solid fourth offering.
6/13/21
Physical: Compact, athletic frame with tons of feel on the bump and pitchability in the actions (5-10, 170lbs).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left corner of the rubber with the front foot closer to the plate. Utilized a quick/short side rocker with pace throughout the delivery, compact leg lift at the top of the stack and held direction with a controlled, mature operation. Pounded the strike zone out of a loose, high ¾ slot with downhill tilt into the zone and finish over the front side. The FB entered both sides at 83-84 mph and mixed a tight, late 73-75 mph breaker in advantage counts. A 75-77 mph SL was thrown harder with different tilt to give hitters a new look on occasion. Feel for three and offers a strong fourth pitch (CH) here and there.
7/29/20
Physical: 5-foot-9, 160 pounds; lean, athletic frame. 7.45 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Wide stance with slight bend in the knees & an upright bat & high elbow; hands load straight back with a moderat leg kick. Aggressive lower half, stays behind the ball well with direct swing path with strong hands & finish. Consistent hard contact to middle of the field; peak Trackman exit velocity of 87 MPH.
Defensively: Walks into position; active approach, quick first step, can cover ground laterally. Smooth transfer; standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 76 MPH.
Pitching: Starts with loose & athletic knee to chest leg lift, drops into back side before working down the mound; long stride to the plate with a max effort over the top release. Clean, long arm action with a high arm slot. FB: T 81MPH, 80-81 MPH. Gets some carry, FB jumps at hitter with release. CB: 68 MPH. Tight spin & break with good combination of depth & horizontal movement. CH: 73 MPH. Maintains same delivery with pitch.
