6/14/22

Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 190lb frame with projection. 7.13 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Wider, rhythmic stance, as the hands work with tempo at the shoulder to begin. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, connected path into the hitting zone. Maintained plane towards a two-handed finish, delivering a gap-to-gap approach during BP. One of the top standouts on the week with two 2B’s and a 3B in gameplay. Finds the barrel with impressive bat-strength, T93 mph exit velocity.

Defensively: The middle infielder flashed a hop in the prep step, rounding the ball with loose arms out in front. Created downward momentum early and made all the plays showing off a variety of routes. Notched an 85 mph arm across the dirt from H ¾ slot.

Pitching: RHP. Operated off the left side, stretch-only; rides a back-hip hinge nicely as he uncoils down the slope. Clean extension on an 84-86, T87 mph FB with whippy arm-action and riding life (2256). Mixed an aggressive 74-77 mph CB with short two-plane tilt.

2/06/21

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-8, 165-pound frame with some strength present. 7.84 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, slightly-open stance with low hands at the shoulder as the barrel pointed at a 45 over the head in the setup. Utilized a lift and replace stride in order to initiate the hands through a flat path and into the hitting zone. Generated consistent, leveraged contact at the front of the plate yielding hard contact through the middle of the field; up to 87 mph peak bat-exit velocity with an impressive 36% line drive rate according to Trackman Baseball. The lower half was clean while hitting into a stiff front side and the hands played with increased confidence in all quadrants of the plate.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder demonstrated a hop step for timing purposes keeping the feet moving with an active approach while getting slightly downhill through the fielding window. A soft glove hand played smoothly out in front with feel for transfers to the throwing ear. Utilized a 70 mph arm strength on accurate throws across the diamond relegating him to a second base position for the time being, but the actions were very clean.
