A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Lengthy, athletic 5-foot-10, 150lb frame with available two-way abilities. 7.17 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Balanced, wide stance at a slightly open start, hands worked calmly at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride towards the pitcher, initiating through a flat, adjustable path into the hitting zone. Clean, connection actions and an accurate barrel that found success at the front of the plate. Finished at a medium/high position above the backside shoulder allowing for a T90 mph bat-exit velocity and lots of pull-side, line drive contact during his batting practice round. Showed off good carry to the RCF gap when staying on the ball and notched a 320 foot max batted ball distance via Trackman on his best swing, current singles/doubles power at the plate.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated a low posture with some feel on routes, got down chest angles and over the toes as a soft glove hand operated with accuracy off his right foot. Short crow hop and gather on the exchange, releasing from a strong, lengthy high ¾ slot (82 mph arm, accurate). CF/LF projection moving forward.
Pitching: LHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber with a pause at the side rocker using lots of funk in the delivery. Balanced stack before driving down with athleticism, tempo using drop/drive into footstrike. Released at H ¾ slot creating good ride and high strikeout totals on a tough FB/SL/split mix. The FB ranged from 79-80 mph with good spin traits and 47% zone rate via Trackman, turning to a sharp 69-71 mph SL that swept hard across the plate. A 69-71 mph split CH appeared with deception at 847rpms AVG, diving down late and fading away from RHH for swing/miss.
2/27/21
Physical: 5’10 150lb LHP/OF ran a 7.25 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thin athletic frame moves well and has room to improve strength overall.
Offensively: Starts in a traditional stance with his hands high, just about his back shoulder. Uses a leg kick as he has some slight barrel rhythm to generate some timing. Barrel works long through the hitting zone.
Defensively: Uses some stutter steps to put himself in a good position to catch the ball. Has an exaggerated crow hop to build up momentum to make a strong throw. Arm works quick as he throws with good intent.
Pitching: Moves slow and easy to start but really starts to engage his body as his legs lifts. Hands move upward as the leg lifts in an attempt to build up energy. Arms stays short and close to the body.
10/12/20
Physical: Lean / athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with some projectability in the build. 7.78 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: LHH. Wide, slightly open stance with the front leg heel raised as the hands started idle tight at the shoulder; barrel pointing upwards. Utilized a controlled toe tap stride while the hands moved slightly backwards beyond the shoulder in order to work through a slightly uphill path and into the hitting zone. Featured a mostly middle of the field approach during batting practice with a moderate posture throughout the swing, liked to clear the hips early with fluidity in the mechanics, but sometimes let the ball get too deep for timing. When on time, created a 50% fly ball rate with natural backspin on ball flight / recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 87 mph per Trackman Baseball / 300 foot maximum batted ball distance. Defensively: The outfielder displayed adequate footwork while arriving to the ball on time with a medium center of gravity, fielded off of the right side of his body while squaring the ball up on occasion. Stood up after fielding and took deliberate steps into a crow hop, accurate, high ¾ slot on the release towards the plate. Projects as a corner outfielder at the moment with above average arm strength; OF - 83 mph Pitching: LHP - Started wide in the middle of the rubber, the LEFT foot moved first and placed itself even on the rubber as the RIGHT foot steps forward and then upwards towards a medium-high leg lift. Good directional drive off of a strong backside towards the plate, landed athletically while getting over the front side at a fluid, ¾ release. FB ranged from 77-79 mph with a 46% in zone rate per Trackman Baseball, commanded the left side of the plate with slight arm side run, mixed in a 66-68 mph CB with feel for spin (2102 max rpms) and 1/7 shape, countered with a 71-73 mph CH creating deception at the plate with good velocity difference between it and the FB, flashed a 72-74 mph CUT FB with occasional late movement.
