6/17/19

Schreck can pick it at shortsop and whichever school signs him is going to be really pleased with his ability to handle the baseball. He has smooth footwork, soft hands, fast exchange, can throw from different slots, play on the run, and has enough arm strength (85 mph) to stay on the left side. Showed 87 mph exit velocity and ran a nice 6.79 60-yard dash.

1.19.19
5-foot-9, 155-pound, lean-strong frame. Schreck can really handle the ball in the middle of the field where he plays through the ball with smooth footwork, soft hands, quick exchange, creating quality angles with high end feel. Starts and finishes the double play with quick, accurate feeds, can throw from different slots and can play on the run. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide base, and takes aggressive hacks as he rotates to contact. Loose-quick hands work inside the ball on a flat path, driving the ball from the middle to pull side.

11.04.18
Schreck is a high level defender with super quick hands, smooth actions, and can play all three infield positions. Listed at 5-foot-9, 155-pounds, the junior has added strength this fall and it showed as he posted his best measurables yet. The right-handed hitter is getting through the zone with a lot more authority and posted a top exit velocity of 87 mph. Starting from a wide base, he slots the barrel on plane early and snaps the barrel through as he rotates to contact, working on a slighlty uphill plane with a high finish. Handles the ball really well in the middle of the field where he starts and finishes the double play at both short and second with presicion. Aggressive player with really good feel, can play on the run and throws with carry across the diamond at 83 mph.

PBR Future Games (Aug. 2018)
Schreck is a top step teammate and plays with a high motor. He has a lean, muscular frame at 5-foot-9, 155-pounds, with broad shoulders. The right-handed hitter starts from a balanced, neutral stance. Simple load as he triggers his hands slightly before he takes a short stride forward. Rotational upper body with a flat path keeps the barrel in the zone a long time. Lots of line drives during batting practice, flashing power to the pull side gap. At shortstop, Schreck has a quick first step and plays low with his hands out front. Has good rhythm through the ball and does a nice job of changing direction on routine ground balls with a quick transition and accurate arm. Had multiple hits on the week and produced a “wow” moment defensively on a ball down the right field line, when he deeked a throw to home plate, with the runner believing second base would be open for advance. Schreck backpicked to first.

STX UC Games (July 2018)
A lean 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. The right-handed hitter sets up in an athletic stance with calms hands, as his bat remains in the load position. Schreck initiates his swing with a minimal stride, showing good lag through the zone with his hands working tight to his midline, as he fires open his front side with plenty of torque, displaying a swing built to hit line drives. On the infield, he plays with charisma, confidence and fluidity in much of what he does. With good lateral agility, soft hands, an athletic throwing arm capable of finishing plays from multiple angles, solid arm strength (81 mph), and a quick trigger, Schreck looks every bit the part in the middle of the infield.

Sliders Scout Day (May 2018)
Thomas Schreck stands 5-foot-9, 155-pounds, with a lean-strong frame. Schreck plays fast and has polished footwork, creating good angles on ground balls while keeping everything in the midline of his body. Easy arm action that plays well from every angle.
