6-foot-1, 165-pound lengthy projectable build. Projectable solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 91 mph. (66.9 mph bat speed average). (22.5 mph hand speed average). Starts in an open crouched stance with a quick active load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is raw developing, exhibits a simple uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Found lots of barrels with some loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 77 mph; has smooth athletic feet, a fluid natural transfer, and soft hands. displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.99-2.08. Athletic quiet setup with a lot of flexibility. Decent accuracy to the bag, used an-over-the-top slot and a compact quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.3 at the event.
VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central
Cafferillo is 6-1 with a 165 pound lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, uphill swing path, some strength at contact with extension through the ball, showed a good approach working primarily gap to gap, some extra base power present with more to come in the future, exit velocity was 89. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, position velocity was 71 and pop times 2.03-2.14. Receiving, works with knee down, sways body behind ball, quick soft hands. Ran a 7.59 60 yard dash.
