After a successful 2023 campaign that saw him earn an invite to the Prep Baseball Future Games and a commitment to Baylor, RHP Loren Georger (Appleton West, 2025; Baylor commit) made it back in front of our staff early on into 2024. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound right-hander was impressive on Saturday, working athletically on the mound, and pairing it with a strong arm. Georger’s fastball topped at 89.3 mph, while casually sitting in the upper-80s throughout with above-average carry through the zone. He also featured an impressive curveball in the lower-70s with sharp 11/5 break that he was able to land low in the zone consistently. He also featured a deceptive changeup in the low-80s which he sold well and played with late depth at the plate. Overall, it was yet another impressive look at this Baylor commit as he has continued to trend in the right direction for a handful of years now.

RHP Loren Georger (Appleton West, 2025) was dominant in his lengthy start on Sunday, filling the strike zone and generating swings and misses on a consistent basis. Standing at strong 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, Georger continued to fit the mold of a quality right-handed pitching prospect after his showing at the 2023 PBR Future Games with Team Wisconsin. Georger was efficient in this one, spotting fastballs in the mid-to-upper-80s (T86 mph) and utilizing his tumbling breaking ball to keep hitters guessing. It was another solid look at the uncommitted right-hander, who now enters the offseason as an upside arm to follow.

RHP Loren Georger (Appleton West, 2025) provided multiple upside looks in his time in Georgia by not allowing a run in either of his appearances on the mound. Presenting himself at  a long 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame, Georger surprised many with an increase in velocity, maxing out at 89.5 mph with the fastball. A theme to this pitch, along with his off-speed mix was the ability to spin. His fastball averaged 2,300 RPM, peaking at 2,650 RPM by the end of his appearance. That played into the curveball, which had 21.1’ of IVB, creating depth to pair with an average spin rate of 2,222 RPM. Georger’s third pitch, the slider, played in a similar fashion to keep hitters off balance, as he finished with two strikeouts in two innings. The right-hander’s athletic movements on the bump, along with continued development of strength throughout his body, makes him a prime prospect to monitor as he enters high school as an upperclassman in the next month.

Currently ranked No. 17 in the class of 2025, Georger is listed at an athletic 6-foot-2, 172 pounds, and he has a projectable body with long levers. During his ‘pen, his fastball sat exclusively at 86-87 mph with quality spin, recorded at 2,226 rpm on average. The fastball is a weapon on its own, with an induced vertical break that maxed at 19.8 inches, which is impressive for an upper-80s four-seamer. His curveball showed 12/6 actions (16.4 inches of vertical break) and he showed the ability to locate it down in the zone, pairing well with his four-seamer. Georger also mixed in a changeup that showed mostly straight actions with developing feel.

Goerger is a projectable 6-foot-1, 170-pounds who hopped on the bump to finish off Monday’s event and it did not disappoint as he arguably put together the day's top ‘pen. While on the mound, Georger stays inline with home plate and couples it with some easy/clean mechanics. As for his repertoire, Georger sat 83-84 mph (T84.8 mph) on a fastball that had some considerable ride and spin (2,425 rpm avg.) through the zone. Georger paired this with a sharp, late-breaking curveball that averaged 2,470 rpm, and it played well off of his fastball with downer 12/6 bite. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a firm changeup that had some hard running action to his arm side. Georger is one of the top Class of 2025 arms we’ve seen in the state to date, and he’s earned success this summer at tournaments elsewhere in the region,

Long projectable frame at 6-foot 160lbs. Athletic delivery with some effort, displaying a loose arm, competes. Finishes his pitches out front, fastball 79-82 mph with carry through the zone and the ability to command it. Throws the breaking ball at 63-65 mph at armspeed with intent, feel to spin.
