NCTB Fall Classic: 2022 Players Spotlight

The second annual NCTB Fall Classic Powered by Prep Baseball Report California featured 16 teams with talented players in all four current grad classes in attendance. Today we roll out a list of a dozen 2022 grads who caught the eye of our scouting staff during the game action 10/27-10/29 in Stockton (CA).

2022 LHP Devon Daniel (Kerman HS) - Central Valley Elite - Lean & athletic, sneaky FB w/feel to both side & good run on arm side, big steep CB w/bite & late action, highly competitive, held velo 5+ inns

2022 C Malcolm Moore (C.K. McClatchy HS) - NCTB Scarlet - Good frame on talented LHH catcher, strong arm, good receive & block skills, plays w/energy, has hand speed at plate, wide open stance

2022 RHP Ryan Edwards (Chico HS) - Chico Aces Red - Lanky build on projectable frame, body/arm work easily, OH slot, ball exits easy, FB up to 80 mph w/occ tilt, big 12/6 CB 68 mph, will throw HARD

2022 OF/2B Cole McGowan (Redwood HS-Larkspur) - NCTB Scarlet - Lively young player, whippy swing (L/R) w/bat control, can work opposite field & has hand speed to cover inner half. Runs well too

2022 INF Joe Brown (Petaluma HS) - NCTB Navy - Member of Team USA 15U gold winner, advanced hit talent, not big but possesses pwr, plays 3B w/feel, good feet/angles w/acc & quick arm

2022 SS/C Colton Farr (Alpha Charter School/JMF Academy) - CBA Sacramento - Athlete w/talent to play SS or C, high level footwork, plays on the move, advanced feel/skill level for frosh & loves to play

2022 C Nick Putnam (San Ramon Valley HS) - NCTB Navy - Long/lanky young catcher still growing into body, good receiving talent, swing works & when strength comes so will ability to drive the ball

2022 MIF Zachary Lewis (Pacific Grove HS) - Dub Baseball Dynasty Blue - Talented all-around player, plays SS w/feel & confidence, easy arm w/throws that track, compact swings works in middle of field

2022 RHP/INF Jerame Davis (Inderkum HS) - CBA Sacramento - Lean body & athletically proportioned, confident, short AA, FB up to 78 w/some angle, slower 12/6 CB & feel of quality CHG

2022 3B/C Damian Martinez (Antelope HS) - CBA Sacramento - Footwork stood out both at 3B/C, light/feet & good agility, plays 3B w/feel and confidence, has strength to drive ball in middle of field

2022 RHP Hayden Beckwith (Buchanan HS) - Central Valley Elite - Sturdy body type, strides open a bit, good arm, w/extension FB (77-79) had sink, showed bulldog nature when brought into tough spot
