HIGH SCHOOL DRAFT 100 PROSPECTS
Quinn Priester, RHP, Cary-Grove HS, IL (Texas Christian)
Michael Prosecky, LHP, Nazareth HS, IL (Louisville)
OTHERS TO WATCH:Marist HS, IL, had a lot of attention this spring with three prospects drawing interesting from scouts in OF Kendal Ewell(Eastern Kentucky), OF/1B Jason Hodges (Arkansas) and RHP/SS Jack Brannigan (Notre Dame). Hodges has a physical frame and big power. Ewell is highly projectable at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and has plus speed, turning in a 6.53-second 60-yard dash. He remains raw, but has considerable upside. Brannigan is a dynamic athlete and ran his fastball up to 94 this spring. SS Jalen Greer (St. Rita HS, IL) took a big step forward with the bat this spring and has easy actions on defense. C Matt McCormick (St. Laurence HS, IL), a West Virginia recruit, is one of the top pure hitters in the Midwest. RHP Zachary Lee (Effingham HS, IL) has a live arm that produces a low-90s fastball. RHP Tyler Schlaffer (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, IL) was 90-93, touching 95 this spring and featured a swing-and-miss changeup. RHP Evan Gray (Belleville East HS, IL) has a wide-shouldered frame at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and can sit in the low 90s. RHP Tyler Statler (Hononegah HS, IL) is physically imposing at 6-foot-6, 225 pounds. He has a long, loose and quick arm that produces a fastball that can run into the low-90's.
