Mighty Quinn Dominates In No. 19 Cary-Grove's Shutout

CARY, IL – No. 2 ranked sophomore Quinn Priester was dominant in No. 19 Cary-Grove’s 6-0 three hit shutout over Prairie Ridge.
Priester had his repertoire working in the first inning as he managed to strikeout four Wolves hitters in the frame. He showed three plus pitches in the outing working mostly with his fastball that sat 88-90, topping out at 91 mph. His secondary offering flashed plus action and induced a number of swing and misses. Over five innings of work, Priester allowed just two hits while striking out eight.
The Trojans got on the board in the first when Priester reached on an error and came around to score on a bases loaded hit by pitch from Ben Baruth. After adding a run in the second to take a 2-0 lead, the Trojans picked up two in the fourth thanks to and RBI double by Tyler Pennington and RBI single from Justin Trausch.
Not to be overshadowed by Priester, junior Ryan Ignoffo had a big day of his own. Out of the leadoff spot, Ignoffo went 4-5 on the day with a double and two RBIs. He came in relief of Preister in the sixth and worked two innings racking up three strikeouts and touching 90 mph with his fastball.
For Prairie Ridge Roth Mizell went 2-3 collecting two singles.
