PBR at The Rock 13U & 14U: Day 3 Quick Hits

Our coverage of Wisconsin’s return to baseball continues today after a full and final day scouting the PBR at The Rock 13/14U Championships. In case you missed our Quick Hits highlights after Day 1 and Day 2, click the previous hyperlink. These posts are comprised of the top performances coming out of Sunday’s action.

+ Upper Deck CF Alex Galindo impressed on all sides of the ball for Upper Deck 14U’s win on the final day of the event. Galindo made two highlight reel catches in center field showing off an impressive first step and advanced range that should keep him in center field moving forward. Galindo also spear-headed the offensive attack out of the two-hole. The right-handed hitter finished 2-for-2 with an RBI triple and two runs scored. Galindo has a quiet swing, lets the ball travel and has quick, twitchy hands helping the ball jump off the barrel. Another key offensive contributor for Upper Deck was leadoff man 2B Evan Les. Les, a left-handed hitter, has a handsy swing, stays inside the baseball and uses the whole field. Les finished 2-for-3 with two line-drive singles to left-field. Les also collected an RBI and scored two runs all while playing a smooth second base.

+ The STiKS Black 14U squad put on a hit parade in their two wins on Sunday and several of their players broke out as follows to know inside their state’s 2024 class already: lead-off man Bradyn Horn (Muskego) is a lanky athlete who swings a loose, aggressive right-handed bat that found several barrels on the day. He moves with above-average footspeed, too, helping him time jumps well in center field and he showed off some real arm strength out there as well. He tallied a pair of hits in the team’s first game on Sunday and launched a deep triple to left field at Milkmen Stadium later in the day. And the big, strong Brady Johnson also erupted offensively at the dish, smashing baseballs one after the other on Sunday. In game one, he laced a single to center and crushed a deep double to left-center. He notched another pair of hard hits in the second game, including a triple.

+ RHP/SS Andrew Gould (Neuqua Valley, IL, 2024) saved his best game of the weekend for the last one. Gould started on the mound and filled up the strike zone with a low-70’s fastball out of a compact, clean arm action. Offensively, hitting out of the three-hole, the right-handed hitter finished 2-for-3 with a double to the left-field fence. Gould has a quiet, simple setup, quick swing that stays flat through the zone and was consistently on the barrel. 

+ RHP Grayson Flugaur (Franklin, 2024) got the start on the mound for PTA 14U in their final game of the event. Flugaur has a clean, uninterrupted arm action, controlled the strike zone and sat at an easy 75-77 mph that he was able to hold throughout the outing. Flugaur mixed in a 11/5 breaking ball to keep hitters honest but it was his ability to command the fastball that impressed above all. 2024 RHP to follow moving forward.

+ Another prospect for Fastball Elite 14U that continued to make his mark as a high-follow 2024 is left-handed hitting catcher Eloy Suarez (Hoffman Estates, IL). Suarez has a strong lower half, open setup in the box and is consistently on time with advanced feel for the barrel. Suarez’s most impressive swing of the first game on Sunday was a line-drive over the second baseman's head that made it all the way to the right-center field wall resulting in a bases clearing double. Defensively, Suarez is a quiet receiver, athletic out of the crouch with an accurate arm and pop times consistently around 2.30 in between innings.

+ LHP Logan Gale (Conant, 2024) is an arm to watch for that same Fastball Elite squad. Gale has a short, clean, compact arm action and athletic delivery that works with rhythm. He attacked hitters with a 70-71 mph fastball and mixed in a sweeping breaking ball at 60-62 mph. Gale threw the breaking ball in any count receiving a number of called strikes early in the count and expanded for swing and misses with two strikes. 

+ Right-handed hitter Anthony Campise (Kaneland, 2024) was the table setter for Fastball Elite in both of Sunday's wins. Campise finished 1-for-2 and reached four times thanks to either a walk or hit by pitch. Campise also scored three runs and knocked in one. Once on the bases Campise showed advanced base-running skills; advancing multiple times on dirt ball reads, stealing two bases and always looking to take an extra base. 

+ We already mentioned C/INF Jaden Fauske (2025) in our day one quick hits. He put together another noteworthy performance on our final day, going 3-for-3 with two doubles for Cangelosi Sparks 13U. Fauske is an advanced bat for his age and controls the barrel well through the zone with sneaky pull-side pop. He’s quickly emerging as a high follow in the Illinois’ 2025 class. 

+ Elery Hardwick (2025), of Prospect Training Academy 13U Cardinal, barreled up a line-drive single that was wizzed right by the pitcher to go along with his pitching performance. Elery pitched 2.1 innings, striking out six of seven batters faced, while also only allowing one hit.

+ For the GRB Rays Green 13U squad, lead-off hitter Bennett Burke (Sparta, 2025) looks physically advanced as compared to his classmates. He’s a left/left athlete who found the barrel several times on Sunday and throughout the weekend, producing above-average quality of contact off the bat.
