Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Jeran Simpson

The final Unsigned Senior Showcase of the year is coming January 24th to The MAX in McCook, IL. As we lead up to the event and the final spring season for seniors in high school, we take a look at some of the best available prospects still on the market. One of the best available infielders is SS/INF Jeran Simpson from Wheaton Warrenville South HS. Simpson was one of the top overall prospects at the Unsigned Senior Showcase held in October. He is one of the best right-handed hitters still available in the 2016 class. He showed extremely loose, easy bat speed evidenced by a 96 mph exit velocity.  He also ran a 7.01 60 at the event and showed steady hands on the infield.

Scouting Report: 10.11.15 - Solidly built 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic right-handed hitting middle infielder. Offensively, posted the best exit velocity at the Unsigned Senior Showcase, 96 mph. Extremely loose and easy bat speed. Strong hands and short path to the baseball. Fluid rhythm, compact and simple swing. Open, balanced setup, smooth pre-pitch load, short stride and good balance through contact. Defensively, steady hands and good body control on the infield. Athletic fielding position, short arm action, over-the-top slot and clocked at 74 mph across the diamond. Also, ran a 7.01 60 yard dash.
