Dillon would show a quality profile on the mound during his Saturday start, showing present pitchability, a confident mound presence, and feel to manipulate tempo. Dillon showed well Friday evening as he struck out one batter through two-thirds of an inning. The left-hander operates from a simple, easy delivery with a high leg while having a tall/fall approach. Compact, clean, quick arm action from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 80-82 while topping out at 83 with feel. Mixed in a curveball that sat 67-69. A 2027 lefty that played a key role for a Brother Rice team that made it to the final weekend.

Uncommitted, 6-foot, 185-pound, left-handed pitcher, ranked No. 63 in the Illinois’ 2027 class. Has added noticeable strength to his frame. Turned in a quality start against Mount Carmel. Settled in after the first inning. Clan, methodical, repeatable delivery. Fastball sat 83-84 mph and went to a short, horizontal 72-75 mph curveball as his go-to off-speed offering. Gave up one run, scattered four hits, struck out one and did not walk a batter in his final three innings. Also, showed off his athleticism bouncing off the mound to complete a 1-3 putout on an above-average runner.

Hit: RHH. Wide, balanced setup, hovers foot into a medium stride, gains ground to the mound. Flat path, pull-side/middle approach, line-drives, controlled finish. 67 mph bat speed with 16 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 83.7 mph. 290’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 79 mph. OF - 83 mph. Loose, 3/4 release, clean arm circle.
Defense: OF: Calculated fielder, step behind crow hop, glove and arm are accurate. INF: Steady actions with smooth hands, feel for the position, fluid footwork around the base.

LHP/UTIL Aidan Dillon (Brother Rice, 2027) gave an impressive two-way look over the weekend. The southpaw worked his fastball in the mid-70s while also showing confidence in a 1/7 curveball at 62-64 mph, thrown often and in any count. The right-handed hitter also showed well above-average bat-strength, leaving the yard for a home run to his pull-side, clearing the fence with ease.

Dillon was electric out of the ‘pen for the Sparks on Friday morning. An athletic-looking LHP that works out of the stretch only, has a clean drop and drive delivery that is repeatable. Arm works over-the-top with some whip. Using a two-pitch mix, both showed the ability to get swings and misses. The fastball sat 76-78 mph, topping out at 79 mph. Had feel for the strike zone with the curve that possessed 11/5 shape. Final line from Friday morning: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 6 K.

Dillon was all over the barrel for the Sparks, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs in his showing on Thursday. Name to follow moving forward. 

Gavin Stanislawski, Anthony Cartolano, Aidan Dillon, Mikey Watson, Jordan Culbreath and Brady Cunningham are just a few 2027s in attendance that showed well and are heading to Brother Rice next year. Of them, Stanislawski had one of the top all-around showings on the day. On the mound, he has a polished repertoire with a clean upside arm and fastball that topped at 82 mph. Stanislawski also had one of the more intriguing swings on the day, working highly-repeatable, short and flat through the zone with a knack for hard contact.

Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic setup, short stride that remains under control.  Quick hands, controls the body well through impact, uses the middle of the field.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 77.7 mph. 287’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 72 mph. OF - 80 mph. OF: Long, clean arm action, high 3/4 slot. INF: Short draw into a 3/4 slot.
Defense: Easy, fluid actions, plays through the baseball in rhythm, natural outfield actions.
Run: 7.87 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Smooth, repeatable delivery, shoulders close off with a closed footstrike.
