RHP Ben Carnahan (Normal University, 2024) threw it well over his two innings of work, not allowing an earned run with one walk against four strikeouts. The 6-foot, 175-pound right-hander worked his fastball up to 85 mph, sitting 82-84 mph with some life through the zone and run to the arm-side. Showed to have feel for an 11/5 curveball at 69-72 mph, landing it for strikes consistently. Flashed a 10/4 slider at 69-70 mph. Slightly up-tempo delivery, medium leg-lift works into a slight drop/drive lower-half, stride works in-line into a recoil finish.

Body: 6-0, 175-pounds.
Delivery: Quick/upbeat, fluid motion, tall/fall delivery, lands in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Full arm swing out of the glove with high 3/4 release.
FB: T86, 82-85 mph. Plays down in the zone with some arm-side run. T2042, 1871 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. 11/5 tilt that jumps up out of hand. T2276, 2233 average rpm.
SL: 70-70 mph. Tight, 10/4 shape, flashed feel. T2297, 2289 average rpm.
RHP Ben Carnahan (University, 2024) is listed at an athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame. On the mound Carnahan had one of the better looks during our time in Peoria. Running his fastball up to 87.1 mph, its a pitch that plays with carry averaging 17.1’ of induced vertical break and gets on would-be opposing hitters quickly as it jumps out of the hand. Also showed a tight breaking slider with above average spin rates 2375 rpm (2461 max) that he consistently threw for strikes, and showed feel to throw his changeup for strikes.

Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, leg-kick timing trigger. Strong hands, intentful swing, direct path, stays on top of the baseball, line-drive approach.

Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Life out of the hand, quick arm with carry, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic actions, plays through the ball with intent

Delivery: Rocker step, high leg kick into lower half coil, finishes in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Loose, whippy arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T87, 84-86 mph. Plays with carry through the zone, jumps out of the hand. T2345, 2212 average rpm.
SL: 75-78 mph. Sweeping action with feel for the zone. T2461, 2375 average rpm.
