FR RHP Clay Gadbois (Kankakee) showed off a high-spinning arsenal that should continue to trend upwards in the coming years. His fastball cruised at 87-89 mph with over 2,600 rpm at times, averaging over 2,500 rpm with carry through the zone. He also went to a sinker at 86-87 mph, running heavily at times to his arm-side with much less IVB than the four seam, 86-87 mph. His slider had short 10/4 action, thrown with fastball intent at 76-77 mph (T2,713 rpm). Final offering was a changeup at 82-84 mph, running to his arm-side naturally.

RHP Clay Gadbois (Kankakee, 2024) had a strong showing on the mound, firing three shutout innings while only allowing two hits, one walk and striking out five. Projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame. Pounded the zone with the fastball, sitting right at 83-85 mph (2300-2400+ RPM) with carry through the zone (17.1 avg IVB). Developing feel for a short 11/5 curveball, 69-72 mph. Simple delivery, low effort while remaining directional with the plate.

Body: 6-3, 175-pounds.
Delivery: Slight drop/drive lower-half, works in-line with some rhythm. Threw three innings with five strikeouts and no runs allowed.
Arm Action: RH. Long, full arm swing out of glove with 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 83-85 mph. Four-seam profile with occasional sink. T2479, 2374 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. Sweeper action with 10/4 shape. T2202, 2038 average rpm.
CH: 74-74 mph. Downward action with deceleration. T1661, 1661 average rpm.

One of the more intriguing prospects in attendance was INF/RHP Clay Gadbois (Kankakee). Standing 6-foot-3, 170-pounds, Gadbois has an upside build with present athleticism. The right-handed hitter works with a fluid rhythm at the plate, working flat through the zone with loose arms and a whippy barrel, reaching up to 91.6 mph for his max exit velocity. On the mound, the right-hander is an athletic mover, working with a high leg-kick into balance point before transitioning into a fall/fall lower-half, striding long to the plate while remaining in-line. His arm is loose throughout its circle and plays from a high ¾ slot. Gadbois ran his fastball in the 82-83 mph range throughout his ‘pen, spinning between 2,300-2,400 (T2455 RPM). His curveball sat 67-68 mph, playing with downer 11/5 shape. His final offering was a fading changeup at 74-76 mph.

Delivery: Athletic, high leg-kick, tall/fall lower-half, long stride that remains in-line with the plate.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm out of the glove into a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T83.5, 82-83 mph. Life through the zone creates tilt at times, above-average spin. T2455, 2329 average rpm.
CB: 67-69 mph. Downer 11/5 shape. T2144, 2122 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Fade to the arm-side. T1946, 1806 average rpm.

Hit: RHH. Open setup, toe-tap stride works back to even. Creates hand separation at foot strike, fluid rhythm in the swing, loose hands, flat path, creates whip in the barrel, on the barrel with authority.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 78 mph. 283’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. High 3/4 slot, long arm action, some life and carry.
Defense: Secures the baseball into the body at times, length through exchange.
Run: 7.14 runner in the 60.
