2/24/24
RHP Daniel Kane (Oak Park-River Forest) stands in a long-limed frame at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds with seemingly more to come. He threw both a four-seam fastball and a sinker, with his fastball sitting 87-89 mph, topping out at 89.6 mph with clear ride through the zone, and his sinker sat 86-88 mph with slight arm-side run. Kane also threw an upper-70s slider with an average of -14 inches of horizontal movement and minimal IVB. An uncommitted arm to follow this spring.

RHP Daniel Kane (Oak Park-River Forest, 2025) is an upside arm strength sophomore to follow. On Saturday, Kane sat 85-87 mph and reached an 88.2 mph high on a fastball that spins at an above-average rate (2,198 rpm avg.) that also has large arm-side movement. Kane’s secondary feel is presently raw, but his fastball velocity and his 6-foot-4, 195-pound stature combine to make him a ‘25 prospect to monitor this spring and summer.

8/10/22

Despite struggling with some command issues, RHP Daniel Kane (Oak Park-River Forest, 2025), will be an arm to keep close tabs on in the 2025 class. Kane has an advanced 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame, clean arm stroke and plenty of arm strength for his age. Kane ran his fastball up to 84 mph with an average of 2,188 rpm while mixing in a firm curveball in the upper-70s with 2,257 average rpm.
