RHP Darren Law (Oak Park-River Forest, 2026; Lewis) showed an elite feel for spin in his two innings, leading the event in spin rate on both his curveball and his slider. Highly projectable, long-levered 6-foot-3, 179-pound frame with room for additional strength. The right-hander was an up-tempo mover on the mound, utilizing a rocker step, with a medium leg lift into a drop-and-drive delivery. He also showed a longer, loose ¾ arm action. Law attacked hitters with his four-pitch arsenal, consistently being able to find the zone with each pitch. His fastball played with ride through the zone at 83-85 mph, topping 86 mph with max HM of 16.6”. His 11/5 curveball played with sharp, late break at 71-72 mph, consistently staying in the 2,900+ rpm range with a max HM of -20.1”. His slider showed a sweeping action at 71-73 mph, showing a spin rate in the ranges of 3,000-3,100+ rpm with a max HM of -20.7”. He also flashed a downer changeup at 74-75 mph with a max HM of 17.4”. Impressive stuff from the recent Lewis commit, who will play a big part in the Husky pitching staff this year.

Uncommitted. Long-levered and projectable 6-foot-3, 178-pound frame, wiry with room to add strength. Impressed with a brief look out of the ‘pen, striking out the side in his inning of work. Up-tempo delivery, high leg-kick into a coiled balance point, tall/fall, works in-line. Longer arm action out of the glove, full circle, ¾ slot, whippy with arm-speed. Attacked in the zone with his fastball, sitting around 86-87 mph with life and finish through the zone. Went to a slider with wipeout action, 10/4 shape with depth and sharp break, 74-75 mph. High-ceiling arm with loud stuff, dynamic FB/SL mix.

A Strong, 6-foot-4, 175-pound built frame, Law gave an intriguing look during his start against Rhino Baseball Boyette. The right-hander tossed two innings allowing two earned runs, one hit, and four walks while striking out. Standing on the mound the righty had a fluid motion with a loose, quick arm. His fastball was sitting 80-83 mph and the slider was 73-7 4mph, with the slider flashing sharp 10/4 action.

Listed at an uber-projectable 6-foot-4, 153-pounds, the right-hander had scattered accuracy with his fastball, but it comes out well at 83-86 mph, playing with over 24” of run at times. He has a knack to spin his breaking balls, with his curveball and slider both coming in with over 2,500 rpm at times, developing feel for both offerings.
