6.6.18 - Drafted in the 18th round by the Toronto Blue Jays.
4.30.15 - 6-foot-8, 220-pound, right-handed pitcher with good coordination and athleticism for size. Currently ranked No. 8 in the Illinois Class of 2015. Arizona State commit. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action. Online, balanced delivery with a shorter stride than you would expect from someone of his height. Starter profile with the ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes. Features a 2-seam and 4-seam fastball, occasionally shows cutting action. Fastball sat 86-87 topping out at 90 in the 1st and 91 mph in the 2nd. Reached back for more velocity when he got ahead in the count. Curveball showed 11-5 shape, occasionally gets sweepy, shows the ability to throw it for strikes at 75-76 topping out at 78 mph. Changeup showed sinking and running action at 81-82 mph.Worked 6 innings striking out 9 allowing only 4 hits.
4.7.15 - Arizona State recruit, ranked No. 8 in Illinois, No. 74 overall. Athletic 6-foot-8, 220-pound frame, moves extremely well for size. Against Carmel on a frigid afternoon, he threw a five-inning no-hitter in a 15-1 whitewash. Struck out 11 and walked two in his five innings. At one point between the first and third innings, Stadler struck out six straight. In the first inning, fastball sat 86-88, touching 89 twice. Settled in at 85-87 for most of the subsequent innings. Curveball ranged between 71-75 mph, mostly 73-74; inconsistent shape. Recorded three strikeouts on curveballs looking. Struck out side in second inning on 71 mph curveball, followed by consecutive 87-mph fastballs. Only had one changeup of record at 80 mph.
8/1/14 - Verbally committed to Arizona State.
6/5/14 - Currently ranked No. 15 in Illinois’ 2015 class and No. 58 overall. Listed at 6-foot-8, 220 pounds.  Skinny frame, arms and legs go on for days.  Ceiling is through the roof.  Really good feet and body control for size, impressed moving laterally and fielding in pregame at 1B.  Pitches from ¾ arm angle with steep downward angle on fastball.  Repeats delivery fairly well for size, with short stride that keeps him on top of the ball. Delivery stays online towards home plate.  Fastball was fairly straight on this day sat 87-88 mph in first inning, dropped to 85-86 in second and third inning, and 83-85 in fourth inning of work.  Changeup was firm with good arm action in 77-81 mph range with some arm side movement.  Curveball ranged from 69-74 mph, showing the ability to start it high and drop in for a strike.  Needs to tighten up spin and get more late movement to make it an out pitch.  Despite a tough outing with several errors behind him, showed composure throughout.  Vocal leader who brought teammates together several times between innings.  Competed throughout.
4/12/14 - Currently ranked No. 15 in Illinois’ 2015 class and No. 58 overall. Listed at 6-foot-8, 220 pounds. Extremely long athletic frame; could easily handle 30 more pounds in future. For his size, he moves very well (also the school’s starting quarterback). Both his older brothers (Walker and Sully) pitch at Indiana University. High-level of projection, may have only scratched the surface of potential. On Friday against Rolling Meadows, he was in complete control. Pitched five innings, allowed no runs, three hits, struck out nine and walked two. In the first inning, after issuing a leadoff walk and a single up the middle, he struck out three, including the final two on 87-mph fastballs looking. Fastball ranged between 85-87 in the first, then pitched comfortably at 83-85 the rest of the way. Pitches downhill, fastball works at steep angle. When delivery is in synch up and gets extension, creates sink with heavy finish. Works bottom of the zone well. Simple mechanics, though his size makes it more difficult to repeat with regularity. Worked predominately off fastball, but showed feel for 73-74 mph curveball; throws pitch for strikes, typically starting it higher and dropping it in for strikes. Overall, one of the most intriguing prospects we’ve seen in Illinois’ 2015 class.
