4.14.15 - 6-foot-4, 220-pound, right-handed pitcher with a prototypical pitchers build. Currently ranked No.. 68 in the Illinois Class of 2015. Committed to Western Michigan. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a quick arm action. Online balanced delivery with smooth mechanics and a shorter stride. Mixed pitches well in outing. Worked 84-87 mph with his fastball early and settled in at 84-85 mph. Showed good feel for changeup at 78-79 mph that flashed sink and fade. Calls breaking ball a curve but gets on the side of it, currently more of a slider. Swing and miss slider with late, short breaking action at 74-77 mph. Quick feet on pickoff move. Dominated in outing allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10.

2/16/14 Strong build, solid frame, 6-foot-4, 220-pound two-way player. On the mound delivery shows direction to target, arm action is quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball has slight run, control of the zone, 85-86 mph. Changeup has sinking action, well above average feel for the pitch, fastball similar arm speed, 77-78 mph. Curveball is hard, 76-77 mph, shorter action, occasional slurve, showed feel. Offensively hits from the right side, slightly open stance, short stride, bat wrap load, balance throughout. Bat path has occasional length, flashes pull side power, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively has above average actions around the bag, feet work well around first base, short arm action, 74 mph across the diamond. 8.01 runner in the 60.

7.17.13 - Physically advanced frame, strong lower half, wide shoulders, 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. Fastball consistently sat 84 mph with occasional sink. Works from high 3/4 slot, long arm action, effort in delivery. Changeup showed swing-and-miss potential. Throws it with conviction, 73-74 mph, with arm-side run. Also throws 70-74 mph curveball. Offensively, demonstrated power potential at plate. Creates natural lift in swing; ball jumps off bat with backspin carry. Big target at first base, handles glove well around bag. 

6/13/12 Szott is a big-bodied 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-handed pitcher.  Szott has a quick arm and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot.  He throws a heavy 78-80 mph fastball with sink.  His off-speed pitches are a 66 mph curveball and a 65-67 mph changeup.
