Started at short and hit out of the three-hole, finishing the day 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. The right-handed hitter has immense power upside along with present thump in the bat, recently setting his school’s career home run record. Right-handed hitter, coils and loads into his back hip while hanging his foot into a controlled stride, steep path with athletic hands, ball jumps off the bat. Advanced defender that will likely stick at short long-term, soft hands with natural actions, body flows with ease, controls levers extremely well and syncs hands/feel through the baseball, crisp transfers including on double-play turns. Arm is plenty strong with a quick release, plays with carry and life across. One of the higher ceilings in the 2027 class, will be a must-follow name for the draft in 2027.

Defensively, he looks the part with smooth and fluid actions and an evident swagger to his game. He shows confident hands and a strong arm that should allow him to stick on the left side of the dirt at the next level.

Staying on the subject of high-ceiling infielders, INF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East) headlines that list. He has a high-waisted frame you can easily dream on, standing in at a long-levered 6-foot-4, 180-pounds with much more room to add strength. He had one of the louder rounds of BP from the Illinois group, peaking at 101 mph with a flat, athletic stroke. He really stands out on the dirt with natural, athletic actions - showing clear feel for the position with range to either side, clean/crisp transfers and timing through the baseball. Must-see name for the Illinois group. GAMEPLAY: Few people garnered as much helium as Tucker did after the first night of gameplay, as he launched two home runs in the nightcap - one pull-side and one to the opposite field. He profiles on the left side of the infield, but he also showed the ability to move into the outfield where he stands out with athletic actions and range.

Standing in at a 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic frame, Tucker showed impressive power and barrel control throughout the weekend with multiple eye-catching home runs. The right-handed hitter operates with a balanced setup, solid swing, and quick but lengthy first step down the line. Defensively showed quality instincts in centerfield, adding even more intrigue to one of the more promising athletes in the region. Also showed the usually fluid defensive actions on the dirt, taking quality reps at both shortstop and third base with evident baseball acumen for both positions.

Uncommitted, Tucker hit two go ahead home runs this week against Oswego and Lincoln-Way West. On the week, Tucker finished 6-for-12 with two walks, double, two home runs, five RBIs, four runs, and two stolen bases.

Long-levered, ultra-projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame, all sorts of room to add strength in the coming years. Started at shortstop and hit out of the three-hole for the Wolves. Continues to look like a high-level defender with the glove, showing easy, fluid actions, playing with leverage and active footwork through the ball, showed range to both sides of his glove, including a diving stop to his backhand deep in the hole. Showed confidence in a one-hand gather through the baseball, clean transfers with ease. One of the highest ceilings in Illinois’ 2027 group.

INF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East, 2027) stands out with his ultra-projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame, and he continues to raise his prospect status with each look we get. Currently ranked No. 4 in IL, his right-handed swing continues to improve, working on the barrel with effortless power throughout his round, creating a peak EV of 99.9 mph and averaging 89 mph, also lifting his furthest batted-ball 375’. It's an easy swing that uses his levers well, staying short to the baseball with a handsy operation and balance throughout. He has also trimmed down his 60-time significantly, now running a 6.69. Tucker then continued his standout performance on the infield where he showed the ability to play through the ball with easy range, paired with a reliable glove up the middle. His arm is short, quick, and accurate, topping at 84 mph with more in the tank moving forward.

MIF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East) continues to impress as one of the top prospects in the state. Listed at an uber-projectable 6-foot-3, 173-pounds, Tucker is lean and highly athletic while still holding plenty of room for added strength in the future. He’s an advanced defender with high-level actions and an internal clock that allows him to play with timing and rhythm, making plays to both sides of his glove with ease and long/athletic strides - pairing with a strong arm (T85 mph) that can play on the move and from multiple angles. He has an athletic right-handed swing that continues to trend in the right direction; working up to 96.9 mph for his max EV in the workout. 6.85 runner in the 60.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 10 in the state. Ultra-projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame, high-waisted with a lean and trim build, plenty of room to pack on strength. Got his first start on varsity and fit right in; advanced defender on the dirt, plays through the ball with rhythm and timing, soft hands with a clean glove-to-hand. Arm plays with carry and accuracy across from a short ¾ release. The right-handed hitter has a wide base with a minimal stride, hands have some movement pre-pitch, works to stay short to the ball with a flat path. High-level, high-ceiling prospect in the 2027 class.

INF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East, 2027) remains a highly intriguing prospect within the state’s 2027 class, currently slotted at No. 8 in Illinois and No. 215 nationally. He stands out physically at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with lean strength and all sorts of athleticism, as well as projection as he matures. The right-handed hitter has an easy/loose swing, using his levers well while working on the barrel with a repeatable and simple operation, maxing out at 93.2 mph for his EV. Tucker has athletic actions on the infield with easy range to both sides of his glove, soft hands with a clean glove-to-hand. Premium athlete with a 6.95 in the 60, also recorded a 33.2” max vertical jump.

INF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East, 2027) is a two-time PBR Junior Future Games participant that seemingly gets better upon each look. An ultra-projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pounds with long levers, Tucker was all over the barrel from the right side this weekend. On Sunday morning, Tucker hit an inside-the-park home run and got around the bases in a blazing 15.93 seconds. Tucker has also ran a 7.02 60-yard dash in the past for our staff. Building upon the offense and his hit tool, Tucker’s athleticism shows up defensively in numerous spots. We saw Tucker make plays up the middle in the infield and out in Centerfield, showcasing plenty of range.

MIF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East, 2027) is another highly-projectable prospect on the Cangelosi Sparks 2027 squad. Tucker’s 6-foot-2, 165-pound, long-limbed, high-waisted frame continues to tick up and he is a natural on the infield playing with fluid, easy actions and accurate arm. He also flashed his intriguing offensive upside, launching a home run in the Championship game of the event. The former Team Illinois Junior Future Gamer is a name to know in the 2027 class.

Impressed out of the bullpen with a quick and whippy arm. FB sat 74-76 mph, T77. Had a feel for a changeup and slider as well. 

Carson Trivellini (Crystal Lake South) and Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East) both impressed with their infield actions and ability to stick on the left-side moving forward. Both were some of the better infield defenders on the day.
