Michigan State commit. Currently ranked No. 39 in the Illinois’ 2024 class. 6-foot, 148-pound, long-levered, high-waisted, upside, left-handed hitting shortstop. Led off and started at shortstop. Sees spin early out of the hand, stays within himself, rarely chases out of the zone and knack for the barrel. Loose, fluid, easy swing, natural uphill loft and has the ability to stay inside the baseball and drive the ball the other way. Finished 1-for-3 on the day with three quality at-bats. Singled through the left-side of the infield in his final at-bat. Stands out at shortstop, especially when on the move. Plays with ease and body control on the move with quality range. Above-average glove-to-hand release, throws with confidence and comfort from multiple angles and low stress. Also has the ability to show off arm strength when needed. Clear internal clock and understanding for the middle infield. Plenty more physicality and ceiling to tap into down the road.

Michigan State commit. Currently ranked No. 39 in the state. Listed at an extremely projectable 6-foot, 150-pounds. Warwick plays an extremely athletic shortstop, ranging easily to both sides of his glove with a quick first step and fluid actions. The left-handed hitter was ready to hit the second he got in the box, attacking early in the count and finishing the day 2-for-3 with a run scored. His speed plays up on the bases with accurate angles and aggressiveness, though he’s proven to be an above-average runner in the past (6.94 60-time). High follow 2024 with tremendous upside.

A name that had already shown well to our staff this summer, left-handed hitting MIF Jude Warwick (Downers Grove North, 2024) impressed again at the Illinois State Games. His ability to find the barrel in-game is noteworthy, as Warwick backspun line drives to all fields throughout our three game sample. A 6-foot, 148-pound athlete that oozes physical projection and also ran a 6.94, Warwick is certainly a follow name in the state’s 2024 class.

The uncommitted sophomore put together one of the more exciting performances so far this spring, making his varsity debut and going a perfect 4-for-4 with some highlight-reel defense as well. Standing at 6-foot, 135-pounds, Warwick is highly projectable with a lean/wiry frame and high waist, possessing plenty of room to fill out in the coming years. The left-handed hitter starts with a slightly open setup, moving back to the plate with a long stride; he creates some hand separation at footstrike before moving with an uphill path through the zone, maintaining a fluid rhythm throughout his entire swing, also putting the barrel on the ball consistently with some sneaky jump off the bat. At second base, Warwick displayed soft hands with a quick transfer, showing the ability to handle the short hop with ease. His footwork is fluid around the ball, working with easy range to both sides of the glove; also making a stellar diving catch on a line-drive up the middle where he also doubled up the runner at first base.
