3.17.17 - Missouri recruit. 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a sturdy lower half, solid build. Quick, clean arm, loose out front, high ¾ slot. Athletic delivery and finish, works with occasional effort. Fastball was live early, sat 89-91 mph in the first, late life and finish through the zone. Settled in at  86-89 mph following the first. Slider, flashed advanced action, especially early in outing, sharp, late bite, good feel, 10/4 action, 79-82 mph. Went three innings and struck out eight.

Super 60 2017 - Missouri recruit. 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Fastball sat 88-89 mph, topping at 90. Showed excellent feel for changeup; threw pitch with conviction and for strikes, 81-83 mph, with late sinking action. Showcased a curveball (76-77) and slider (76-79), both similar in shape and velocity.

6/21/16 - Connecticut recruit. 6-foot, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, solid build, average frame.One of the biggest overall risers at the PBR Midwest ProCase. Highly competitive mound presence, attacks hitters with advanced three-pitch mix. Quick arm, clean and loose, high-3/4 slot, athletic delivery and finish, works with some effort, repeats well. Around the zone with everything. Fastball sat 90-91 from the windup, 86-90 from the stretch; slight arm-side life. Slider can be go-to out pitch. Throws slider aggressively and confidently, short, tight, late-breaking action, 77-79 mph (have seen it up to 82 mph in the past). Has ability to throw slider for strikes and to bury it down. Didn’t need changeup in game action, but showed to be a quality offering in warmups. Throws changeup aggressively, 80-82 mph, with arm-side sink.

2/14/16 - 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, average frame, solid lower half. Aggressive pitcher with four quality pitches and feel, lively in the hitting zone. Pitches with some effort, squared landing, athletic finish, on time and athletic. Arm action is clean and loose, quick arm, high ¾ slot. Fastball flashes slight arm side action, ability to control the zone, 86-88 mph, good finish and life. Curveball has 11/5 shape, gradual action, 71-72 mph. Slider has sharper action, 10/4 plane, 73-75 mph. Changeup has good run and life, fastball arm action, 76-79 mph.

Future Games 2015 -  5-foot-11, 160-pound does not have your prototypical long and lean pitchers frame. The right-handed pitcher makes up for it with his athletic delivery, quick arm and swing and miss slider. Ash operates from a high ¾ arm slot, with quality rhythm throughout his delivery. Clean arm action with some effort. Fastball has a tendency to flatten out when up in the zone but flashed some late life and sat 83-85 mph.  Also, threw one of the better, firmer sliders for Team Illinois that ranged anywhere from 72-76 mph. Slider flashed tight, hard spin that was swing and miss at times. Showed a change-up that was 79 mph. Ash struck out three batters in his two innings of work at the Future Games.

1.18.15 - 5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed pitcher impressed with plus arm speed for age and smallish frame. Plenty of projection remaining. Fastball sat 84-86 mph from quick, loose, high ¾ arm slot, loads knee over rubber at balance point, aggressive with lower half, jumps at hitter, slightly uphill shoulders/front side, smooth rhythm through delivery, lands slightly closed at times, stride direction is in line with home plate. Curveball and slider both sat in the 71-73 mph range, similar shapes, better command of hard, late breaking slider, 10/4 shape. Plus feel for 78 mph changeup thrown aggressively with arm side run. Ash will be one of the top arms in the 2017 class to follow thanks to his arm speed and feel for three pitches, especially if he grows/physically matures.

7/14/14 - 5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed pitcher. Delivery is clean, athletic, directional and efficient, works off of firm front leg. Arm action is clean and quick, high ¾ slot, arm works loosely, above average arm speed, more velocity down the road. Fastball shows run, slight sinking action, 77-80 mph, showed the ability to command and pound the zone. Showed two breaking balls, similar action on both curveball and slider, 68-72 mph on both, slurve action, flashed sharp bite. 

6/12/14 - 5-foot-8, 150 pound two-way talent impressed more on the mound with feel  for three pitches from smooth mechanics and arm action with extension out front.  Fastball ranged from 76-79 with arm side run from loose and quick ¾ arm action.  Curveball and slider both thrown for strikes in 67-69 mph range with varying shape.  Changeup thrown with conviction at 75-76 mph with sink.  Offensively, hits from an athletic, open stance with short stride and fluid rhythm producing line drives from gap-to-gap.

9/23/19: While walking four in the fifth inning of Game One, Konnor Ash was up to 94 mph with his fastball and showed a downer curveball at 82-84 mph from an over-the-top slot. He’s a 6-foot, max effort right-handed arm who thrives on swing/miss when his delivery is in sync and he’s able to release his two main pitches from the same window, keeping the fastball up in the zone and the breaker down. If Ash is able to consistently repeat his delivery, harness his stuff and find the zone more often (17 BB in 28 IP this summer, 30 BB in 53 IP last spring), look for him to jump into mid-Day Two consideration.

8/12/19: At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Ash is a competitive, strong built righty who throws with max effort from an over-the-top slot. He adds some deception to his delivery with a high glove position giving hitters a tough look at his offerings. During a mid-July start against Falmouth his fastball reached 95 mph, with most in the 91-93 range. He held 91-92 into the sixth inning. The heater was straight and played below average due to a lack of life and command. Early in the game, his curveball was well below average as he flew open with his delivery and couldn’t catch it out front to stay on top. Eventually, he found his release point and the 81-83 mph offering became an above average-to-plus, swing/miss pitch with 12/6 downer bite. He would finish his 5.2 IP start with 8 strikeouts, most of which via his hard curveball. A distant third pitch was an 84-86 mph change of pace which he telegraphed by a slowing of his hand/arm speed. More thrower than pitcher, Ash led the Cape with 41 strikeouts this summer. However, with 17 walks in 28.1 innings pitched, he must improve his strike-throwing ability. If he does, he should find himself considered for selection during the middle rounds of Day Two. (Seifert)
