5/11/23

Illinois-Chicago commit. Currently ranked No. 19 in the state. Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 150-pound build with room to fill out. Impressed early on with his round of defense in IO, boasting fluid/soft hands and active footwork, getting around the ball well and also showing an athletic run-through in-game. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts in a relaxed setup before swinging his hands back into a high load, firing through the zone with a flat path with bat-speed. Simple stroke that looks to stay inside the baseball. High-follow 2025 with legitimate two-way potential.

4/27/23

UIC commit, currently ranked No. 19 in the Illinois’ 2025 class. 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed hitter with a well-proportioned athletic build with some definition in the lower half. Got moved up to the leadoff spot for one of the first times on the year and started at second base. Slotted in naturally to the leadoff spot. Takes consistent, competitive at-bats, sees a lot of pitches, rarely chases out of the zone and above-average bat-to-ball skills. Simple, repeatable swing that stays direct and flat through the zone; creates well-above average jump off the barrel given his stature. Finished the day 2-for-3 with a deep home run to left-center field, three runs, two RBIs and a walk. Stood out on the infield as well playing with smooth, reliable actions. Consistently makes the routine play and showed the ability to handle bad, inconsistent hops with no issues. Competitive, even-keeled demeanor and approach to the game.

4/24/23

Illinois-Chicago commit. Currently ranked No. 19 in the state. 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with upside. Gave a brief, yet impressive look out of the ‘pen for the Warriors. The right-hander worked his fastball in the 86-88 mph range to pair off a sharp 11/5 breaking ball at 76 mph and fading change at 81 mph. He attacked the zone with all three of his pitches throughout the look and looks to have more in the tank as he continues to fill out.

4/18/23

UIC commit, currently ranked No. 19 in the Illinois’ 2025 class. Another true two-way prospect on the roster for Lincoln-Way West. Started at second base and hit in the seven hole. Had one of the biggest swings of the day, a ringing double to straight away center field that started a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning that led to two key insurance runs. Athletic, flat swing that stays short to and long through the zone with sneaky jump off the barrel and the ability to backspin the baseball. Also, jumped on the mound late in the game and threw 1.1 innings. Athletic, clean and quick arm plays from an over-the-top slot; highly projectable with much more velocity to come. Flashed advanced spin and action on the slider at times; has a chance to be one of the top sliders in the class. Thrown with intent, hard, late, tight action, 10/4 shape when at its best, sat 75-76 mph. Fastball plays clean out of the hand, mostly straight, lively offering that sat 84-85 mph, touched 88. Struck out one and gave up one hit in his brief stint.

3/28/23

University of Illinois-Chicago commit. Currently ranked No. 19 in the state. 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, athletic build with room to grow, batted ninth and played second for the No. 4 team in the state. The right-handed hitter, works from a balance stance, loads into the back leg with a heel raise trigger for timing. Uphill path with athletic hands, uses the whole field. Went 1-for-2 with a double down the left field line. Defensively, has athletic footwork with soft hands and looks like he has a chance to develop into a shortstop later in his varsity career.
