5/30/24
Murray had two standout performances with the bat for Alton. In a Regional Semifinal win he went 3-for-4 with a double, five RBI's and two runs scored. His bases-clearing double gave the Redbirds the lead for good over Quincy. In their 4-3 Regional Championship win over Belleville West Murray went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
5/08/24

Uncommitted. Murray threw a gem in their 1-0 win over Collinsville, throwing a complete game shutout (8 IP) with nine strikeouts and no walks, allowing only three hits.

4/03/24

Uncommitted. Impressive week at the plate going 8-for-14 with a triple, three doubles, six RBIs, three walks and four stolen bases. In their 8-0 win over Civic Memorial, Murray went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs, two runs scored and two walks. He had another impressive day in their 14-4 win over Hazelwood West, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Murray threw 4.2 innings against DeSoto Central (MS), striking out seven, walking three, allowing three runs and four hits.

3/15/24

Murray turned in a gutsy performance on Friday afternoon. The right-hander is an athletic mover at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, and continually pounded the zone (63% strikes) and got ahead of batters, inducing a lot of ground ball contact. He pitched out of trouble a few times, working with a low 80’s fastball (T83) that played with some sinking action at times. Murray also went to two different breaking balls; a slider that had short lateral break to it, and a curveball that played with 11/5 shape.

10/04/23

5-foot-9, 155-pounds. Started for the St. Louis Redbirds on Sunday morning. Hybrid start, quick compact arm circle, high ¾ finish. Simple strider, weight carries out front. Fastball played at 80-83 mph. Some feel to spin his breaking ball around the zone, 70-72 mph.
