+ Tommy Kramkowski, SS (Belleville East, 2025): Missouri State commit. Kramkowski showed well at the plate last week, going 5-for-7 with a double, three RBIs, four runs scored, one stolen base and a walk. In their 10-3 win over Moline, he went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Verbally committed to Missouri State.
Uncommitted. It was an all-around impressive week for Kramkowski who threw a complete game on the mound in their win over Alton, striking out 10, walking none, allowing five hits and one run. He also went 3-for-4 with an RBI at the plate. On the week he went 7-for-15 with one home run, two RBIs, three runs scored and two walks.
Uncommitted, set to take a notable jump in our Illinois’ 2025 rankings as one of the top junior arms still on the market in Illinois. 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with plenty of projection to come, young look. Athletic and intentful mover, stacks onto his backside and rides it down the mound. Level shoulders, strong front side, glove arm tucks. Finishes in-line to target, does spin off towards the first base side through release at times. Quick arm stays short and compact on the backside, high ¾ finish, accelerates out front. Fastball touched 91 mph in the first inning, played at 87-90 mph with life and jump out the hand over a three-inning stint on a cold day. Supreme confidence in both of his breaking balls, will throw them in any count to any hitter. Spun slider at 77-79 mph with hard lateral action, comes out of the same arm window as his fastball, swing-and-miss upside. More arch and depth to his curveball, 72-73 mph, landed it for strikes more effectively in the second and third inning. Rounded out his arsenal with a fading changeup at 77-78 mph that he threw to left-handed hitters, feel for it, effective on the arm-side corner. An on-the-rise arm with three pitches that looks every bit the part of another high-end arm to follow from southern Illinois.
A name we’ve become increasingly familiar with over the last six or so months, RHP Tommy Kramkowski (Belleville East, 2025) was impressive again in Saturday’s look. Standing in at a projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, Kramkowski had perhaps the best overall stuff at the event with his four-pitch mix. His fastball played in the 87-88 mph range (T89) with ease out of the hand while posting an average spin rate of 2350+ rpm (T2427). Kramkowski then spun two tight breakers with his curveball posting an average spin rate of 2400+ rpm with some 12/6 action at times, while his slider had a strong feel for the zone, being thrown for a strike 75% of the time with a max spin rate of 2550+ RPM. He would round out his mix with a changeup that played in the 77-78 mph range with arm-side action (11.5” HM). Belleville East looks to have another strong frontline starter for the next two years with Kramkowski after losing Zander Mueth to the Pittsburgh Pirates in round two of the MLB Draft last summer.
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned frame with present lean strength and room for more.
Delivery: Athletic, up-tempo mover. Quick side step start, leg lifts to balance point, drop/drive pattern down the mound, rides the backside. In-line mover, firm lead leg, finishes over his front side with an athletic and controlled finish through release.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm stroke, high ¾ finish. Easy arm speed, athletic.
FB: T89, 88-89 mph. In the zone often with ride and run traits at peak. T2427, 2354 average rpm.
CB: 73-74 mph. 11/5 shape, more gradual action with higher arch and depth than slider. Sharp at times, strikes. T2439, 2408 average rpm.
SL: 77-77 mph. Tight, bullet-like spin with out-pitch upside. Averaged 12.8 inches of horizontal movement, peaking at 14.6 inches. Strikes T2556, 2426 average rpm.
CH: 78-79 mph. Thrown at fastball arm speed, limits spin and lift, fades it. Flashed strike feel. T1711, 1605 average rpm.
Tommy Kramkowski (Belleville East, 2025) put together a standout performance during the first day of action down in Rantoul. Listed at an upside 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, Kramkowski is a simple mover on the bump and pairs it with a loose, whippy arm that maxed at 86 mph on his hardest bullet to the plate, while sitting in the low-to-mid-80s throughout. Kramkowski also featured three, well-above average offspeed offerings that were able to consistently keep hitters off-balance. Kramkowski spun in two different breaking balls, the first being a more traditional curveball in the low-70s that played with tight 11/5 action and depth. The second was a tight slider in the mid-70s and featured short horizontal action, too. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a deceptive changeup with fade to his arm side, in the upper-70s. Kramkowski would finish his illustrious outing with two strikeouts, while holding the opposition hitless in his three innings of work, and he certainly left Rantoul with an arrow-up next to his name.
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-2, 175-pounds. High-waisted, long levers.
Delivery: Side step windup. Medium leg kick, in-line stride that gains easy ground down the mound. Struck out two and walked one in three innings of work.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action with some whip. 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 80-86 mph. Some life through the zone with arm-side run. T2233, 2122 average rpm.
CB: 71-74 mph. Tight 11/5 action with depth. Had feel for both sides of the plate. T2371, 2265 average rpm.
SL: 73-76 mph. Tight spinning action with feel for the zone. T2247, 2188 average rpm.
CH: 76-77 mph. Fading action. Maintains arm speed. T1568, 1411 average rpm.
6-foot-2, 175-pound lean, athletic frame with plenty of room to physically mature. Provided a brief, yet impressive, look in relief, striking out a pair in the seventh to secure a tight win for the Lancers. Simple and controlled operation, athletic at balance point, stacks onto his backside, level shoulders with a firm front side. Loud landing at footstrike, finishes in line to target, athletic through release. Short quick arm, comes out of a tight high ¾ slot. Fastball touched 86, sat 83-85 mph with plenty more to come. Spun two different breaking balls, landing both of them for strikes. Tight, late two-plane break on a 74-76 mph slider, thrown with conviction for whiffs. Higher arch and more shape to his curveball at 67-68 mph, landed it for strikes as a get-me-over. A high-upside athletic sophomore to follow.
The sophomore had two impressive performances on the mound last week for the Lancers. Against Granite City he pitched four innings with nine strikeouts, one walk, no earned runs, one hit, earning the win. He earned the win against Bingham, as well, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, three walks, no runs, and three hits allowed.
RHP Tommy Kramkowski (Belleville East, 2025; IL) bumped his fastball up to an easy 80 mph yesterday with more in the tank as he fills out a lanky, thin-levered 6-foot, 160-pound frame.
