5/20/26
John Wood commit, currently ranked No. 242 in the 2026 class. Stands in at 6-foot, 150 pounds with plenty of room to fill out. Went 2-for-3 out of the leadoff spot with a double, 2 RBIs for the Griffins. Put a good swing on the ball all game, working mostly up the middle including a hard hit double to the right-center gap.
7/17/25

Athletic 6-foot, 148-pound frame with room to add strength. Showed well on both sides of the ball Friday afternoon. At the plate ripped a double down his pull-side line. Defensively showed range with soft hands and an arm across the infield. Made difficult plays look routine with some electric moments at short.

7/15/25

Verbally committed to John Wood CC.

2/17/24

RHP Ty Etcheson (Father McGivney, 2026) is a wiry, lean-bodied athlete with upside on the mound from this event. A fluid mover down the mound, Etcheson worked in rhythm and with pace throughout his ‘pen. It’s a loose, clean, and quick arm that pitched at 80-82 mph with his fastball, though should keep ticking up as he continues to add strength to his frame. Etcheson flashed feel to land a curveball for strikes at 68-69 mph and he threw a running changeup at 75-77 mph.

2/17/24

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-1, 150-pounds. Lean, high-waisted frame with physical projection to come.
Delivery: Side step start with some pause, high leg lift, controlled at balance point. Long strider, in-line at times with intent through release.
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, 3/4 finish.
FB: T82, 81-82 mph. Clean out of the hand with arm-side action. True 2-seam feel. T2244, 2173 average rpm.
CB: 68-69 mph. Short bite with 11/5 shape. Has feel for the zone at times. T2015, 1850 average rpm.
CH: 75-77 mph. Thrown with same armspeed as fastball, plays with arm-side fade and downer action. T2006, 1840 average rpm.

2/17/24

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-1, 150-pounds. Lean, high-waisted frame with physical projection to come.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with weight stacked onto the backside. Loads in rhythm, strides to closed. Quick and intentful mover out of load. Long and uphill path to contact, looks to elevate the baseball to the pull-side. 65 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 76.3 mph. 305’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Short tight arm path, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic on the move, works around the baseball in rhythm. Fluid strides on the move. Steady hands, glove works out front.
Run: 7.32 runner in the 60.

10/04/23

Lean, lanky 6-foot-1, 150-pounds frame. Clean and continuous arm path with some length on the backside, loose out front with arm speed. Simple in-line delivery, controlled his levers well. Fastball played at 78-81 mph, plenty more to come as he continues to get older. Landed a curveball for strikes, 65-67 mph.
