Positional Profile: 3B
Body: 6-foot-0, 190-pounds. Strong, sturdy, well-proportioned build.
Defense:  Athletic fielding position, fluid footwork, rangey defender, steady hands, secures the baseball, clean funnels leading to quick release, accurate throws across the diamond, fluid overall defensive actions.
Arm: RH.  INF - 86 mph.  Short, loose arm action, high 3/4 slot; present arm strength.
Hit: RHH. Athletic, balanced setup, slight bat tip in load, leg kick trigger, short stride to even, stays balanced through contact.  Short, level path to the baseball.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Some pull-side raw power.
Run: 7.46 runner in the 60.

Dyer has stocky build at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and is a right-handed hitting catcher and infield prospect in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.27 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 90 mph. During batting practice, Dyer starts in an athletic stance, leg lift into load, in line stride, quick bat, level bat path, show pop to the middle of the field during round. Behind the plate, starts in a narrow stance, clean transfers, clean arm action, over the top release, positional velo of 74 mph, mostly accurate throws, pop times between 1.91 and 2.06 seconds. On the infield, showed athletic actions, moves well side to side, momentum towards target, high three quarter release, positional velo of 80 mph, accurate throws.

1/26/19 - Dyer is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting hitting catcher, right-handed pitcher and third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.41 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in open stance, controlled load to back side with toe tap, short in line stride, level path, middle to pull side line drives.  Behind the plate, 1.95 to 2.09-second pop times, 79 mph positional velocity, throws with high three quarters arm slot, thin set up in base, quick catch and throw, quick footwork, mostly accurate throws. On the infield, aggressive with footwork to the ball and through the catch, gains ground after exchange, short high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange, fields ball in athletic position, 83 mph positional velocity, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Dyer comes from a high three quarters arm slot, controlled leg lift, accelerates down the mound, throws with regular effort, finishes online through release, fastball at 80-83 mph, occasional hard running actin, breaking ball at 71-73 mph, 11-to-5 action, late, commands for a strike, good feel for a change up at 74-77 mph, sinking action.

1/15/18 - Dyer is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas 2021 class.  He ran a 4.53 home to first and has an exit velocity of 81 mph. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth and controlled load into back leg, to tap, short stride, accelerates to contact, gap to gap approach.  Behind the plate, 2.08-2.24 pop times, 70 mph positional velocity, sits low, high three quarters release, feet and hands work together, throws have carry to the bag. On the infield, 73 mph positional velocity, short high three quarters release, quick catch and throw, works through the ball, mostly accurate throws.

10/22/17 - Dyer is a 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher, right-handed pitcher and third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.34 60 and 4.56 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, reverse toe tap, smooth and controlled load, showed occasional pull side power, gap to gap approach, hand manage the barrel, singled to left in game action,. Behind the plate, pop times between 2.08 and 2.22-seconds, 69 mph positional velo, thin set up in base, high three quarters release, shows flexibility, soft hands, fluid actions, hands and feet work together, mostly accurate throws. On the infield, 75 mph positional velocity, loose three quarter release, quick to the ball, soft hands, field ball out front, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Dyer comes from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm circle, controlled simple delivery, repeatable, in line stride, fastball at 73-76 mph, slight cutting action, curveball sharp at times, 12-to-6 action, 66-67 mph, threw high number of strikes.
