Cory Viola: LHP/1B, (2024) Whitmer, OH. 5-foot-11, 175-pound. (62.3 mph bat speed average). (19.1 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Had a simple upward swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 81 mph; had sure hands, a natural exchange, and consistent footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.05. On the mound, had a compact arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2191; Avg 2083). Shows gradual action on his 11/5 curveball. (Max spin 2182; Avg 2153).
