Bat speed is quick, exhibits a loose level swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph; shows a natural exchange, soft hands, and consistent feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.56.

Gavin Byrd: SS/RHP, (2026) Lakota East, OH. 5-foot-9, 150-pound. (65.4 mph bat speed average). (18.8 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced stance with a smooth quick load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was developing, used a short simple swing plane and balanced finish. Up the middle opposite field approach. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 80 mph. Confident athletic on the mound, showing good arm speed he used a ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Tall balance point with downhill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. (Max spin 2197; Avg 2113).

Love the patterns in the box-shows both athleticism and body control throughout the sequence. Loose hands, generating early batspeed at swing decision and path plays to all fields. Talented hit tool. Sure-handed defender that can play all three skill spots. Overall a very solid player who stands out in the game.
