Comments

6/14/22

Physical: Highly athletic, strong 6-foot, 185lb frame with RTF. 6.92 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Narrow, slightly bent stance, as the hands showed rhythm off of the shoulder to begin. Utilized a barrel-tip on time with a lift and replace stride, initiating the swing through a lightning-quick, flat path into the hitting zone. Plenty of bat-speed available with a clean rotational skill set, producing an extra-base hit approach during his round. Notched a T95 mph exit velocity at 348 feet; 63% hard hit rate.

Defensively: The outfielder glides around in space, giving chances to fill at least two of the three positions at the next level. Some downward chest angles and choppy footwork allow for body control at the touch and an 85 mph arm-strength projects nicely.

Pitching: RHP. Slower delivery that unwinds down the slope from the middle of the rubber; H ¾ slot, with arm-side life at 82-86 mph (2246). Mixed a 71-77 mph SL that manipulated with tight cut across the zone, adding a commanded 73-75 mph CH.

2/12/22

Physical: 6-foot-0, 180 pounds; Muscular, athletic build. 7.12 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Drops hands on the way back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 99 MPH via Trackman. Finds the barrel through the violent swing. Lots of pop present.

Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are off to the side with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot.   OF - 88 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a long stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 88 MPH, while sitting 87-88 MPH; straight action. CB: 74-75 MPH; slurve  like action. SL: 78-79 MPH; short action. CH: 80-81 MPH; sinks.  High level arm powered by good pace down the slope and a strong lower half.

8/24/21

Physical: 6-foot-0, 177 pounds; Full, muscular build. 7.23 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a two handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 96 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are off to the side with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot.  OF - 79 MPH.

6/15/21

Physical: Lengthy, high-waisted 6-foot, 170lb frame with projection left. 7.22 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced stance outside shoulder-width with a high-elbowed start. Utilized a barrel tip on-time with a short lift and replace stride initiating the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Showed off an impressive combo of both ready bat-speed (T77 mph max via Trackman) and an 84% on-plane efficiency pointing towards bat to ball skills in the box. Mainly middle of the field approach during his batting practice round with a good lead leg block transferring the weight to the front of the plate. Notched a 93 mph bat-exit velocity on his best swing to LCF.

Defensively: The outfielder featured shifty, rangy actions staying behind the baseball with good body movements downhill at the fielding window. Funneled calmly off the left side of his body using a loose glove hand low on the ground, releasing from high ¾ (83 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber with average pace to the delivery, got to a balanced stack position creating stretch/separation into footstrike and released on time through the slot. FB ranged from 79-81 mph up to T19 inches of IVB (per Trackman) adding an adequate 69-71 mph SL with short horizontal tilt. A 68-70 mph CH flashed later with sprayed command at 1448 rpms AVG.

8/25/20

Physical: 5-foot-11, 163 pounds; slight, athletic build. 7.49 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. High hands with a 45 degree angle bat, shoulder width feet; simple stride forward past shoulder length, pushes hands back toward catcher. Average use of the lower half, rotates well with upward swing path, shoulder match swing plane at contact. Pulled a bunch of balls hard to pull side creating some lift; peak Trackman exit velocity of 92 MPH.
Defensively: Athletic set up, bent at the waist with some weight shifted forward; moved up on the ball well, kept chest low to the ground while fielding. Soft hands into a smooth corral and transfer; rotates early into the throw from a 3/4 slot. OF - 78 MPH.
Pitching: Good, controlled tempo in the delivery with average stride length down the slope. Similar arm mechanics to outfield eval, low effort with a long swing. FB: T 77 MPH, 75-77 MPH. Fastball was good with average carry into and through the strike zone. CB: 64-65 MPH. Small vertical break on the curveball, good change in speeds. SL: 68-70 MPH. Slider had good east to west break with good speed. CH: 66-67 MPH. Changeup will play well down in the zone with some good dive.

10/05/19

5-foot-11, 163-pound primary pitcher sat 73-75 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a short hook in the back of his delivery. Curveball at 66-68 showed 11/5 rotation while slider with later, shorter break sat 69-71. Also displayed a feel for his changeup at 67-69. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his hands from a high elbow load with no stride. Showcased a feel for the barrel and strength in his lower half. Registered a bat exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Played through the baseball routinely in the outfield with 73 mph arm strength to home plate. Also displayed developing defensive skills as an infielder with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond.
