6/18/13 Walters is widely regarded as one of the top hitting catchers in the PA Class of 2014. The 6-1, 195-pound right-handed hitter uses a leg lift trigger and creates tremendous barrel whip with a strong hip turn. His round of batting practice was sub-par by Walters' standards, but he did show a bat exit velocity of 89 mph. Walters impressed with vastly improved arm strength and pop times over just 12 months ago. While he still has some work to do on the transfer portion of his throws, Walters led all catchers at the event in arm strength on throws of 79 mph from the crouch and in pop times at 1.94-2.00. The senior to be served notice that his defense is on the fast track to catching up with his advanced hitting abilities.
4/13/12 Walters proved to be the premier prospect of the day. His 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame projects well at the next level. Walters displayed one of the stronger throwing arms from behind the plate with a top pop time of 2.05 and a velocity of 77 mph from his position.
