VA/DC State Games
Duff is 6-2 with an athletic frame that has some strength present in the lower half and some projection left to it. He throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and higher effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 80-84, with downward plane and a bit of late run. Curveball had good armspeed and was 67-69 with sharp 11/5 break to it, got swing and misses with the pitch.
TPG II
Duff is 6-2 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, shorter free arm action that is quick and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 82-85, with downward angle and some late run to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 66-67 with sharp 11/5 break to it.
VA/DC Scout Blog
Duff got the start for Liberty Christian and threw four and two thirds innings of shutout baseball. From the jump he dominated hitters with the fastball. He moved it in and out and up and down well getting swings and misses with the 84-87 mph pitch. Duff repeats the delivery well, with normal effort throughout. The arm action is longer with a slight stab on the backside before throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Showed feel for the zone early on with two offspeed pitches, but as the game progressed he was not as consistent around the zone with the secondary pitches. The breaking ball had varying shapes and was best when it was a tighter 12/6 that got up and down well. The breaking ball stayed between 73-74 mph and the changeup had gradual arm side fade at 77-79 mph. Overall it was good to see the UVA-Wise commits velo begin to creep up, as he consistently hit 87's during his outing and held the velo into his fifth inning of work.
VA/DC Scout Blog
Pounded the strike zone with two pitches. Fastball sat 80-83 mph and had some downhill plane to it at times. Solid feel for an 11/5 breaking ball that he could get in the zone just about any time he wanted. Breaking ball sat 69-71 mph. Is a strike thrower that is going to pitch to contact and flashed ability to stay out of the middle third of the plate with both pitches.

Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 82-84, touching 85 with some late run to it. Slider had good armspeed and was 71-73 with late 11/5 downer break. Change-up had some armspeed and was 74-76 with fade to it.

Duff is 6-2 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action that that is free and quick, normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands on line with an athletic finish. This was one of Duff’s first appearances back after shutting down late in the high school season. Fastball was 78-80, touching 81, with downward plane and a bit of late run to armside. Slider was 65-66 with some armspeed and late downer 11/5 break.
Preseason All-State II
Duff is 6-2 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot with short, quick arm action and some effort. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 81-85, with downward plane and a bit of late run to it. Curveball was 71-73 with late sharp 10/4 break and good armspeed, swing and miss pitch. Change-up was 74-76 with good armspeed and a bit of late fade. Showed ability to command both sides of the plate with all three pitches.
Underclass Games
Duff is 6-1 with a lankier athletic frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short loose, quick arm and normal effort. Shoulders are closed, lands a bit closed with some fall off in his finish. Fastball was 81-84, touching 85 with late boring action to it and downward plane. Curveball was 70-72 with some armspeed and 11/5 break, pitch has potential to be swing and miss as it sharpens as he develops. Prospect with a lot of upside.
