Delivery: Controlled delivery with late intent.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action from H 3/4 slot.
FB: T89, 86-88 mph. Fastball has late life. T2223, 2003 average rpm.
SL: 78-79 mph. Slider has sweeping action. T2310, 2228 average rpm.
CH: 78-78 mph. Kills spin on fading changeup. T1409, 1407 average rpm.
5-foot-9, 175-pound. During batting practice, Knighton clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. (67.4 mph bat speed average). (22.2 mph hand speed average). While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 80 mph. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.21. On the mound, using a short quick arm action he showed quick arm speed from a high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows decent effort. Balance is tall point with an even shoulders in his delivery. Displayed balanced finish Curveball (68-69 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 77-79 mph and topped out at 80 mph; showed both sides of the plate control. (Max spin 1950; Avg 1702). Hit: RHH. Taller set up with high hands. Level path, slap style path. Barrl stays in zone, gets in and ount at times.
Power: 63 mph exit velocity from the tee. Not much at the moment, but shows frame to add to which should cause for improvement down the road.
Arm: RH. INF - 61 mph. Shorter action, should get better as he adds strength.
Defense: Feet work well. Fields ball well, chance to quicken release with more reps.
