Wake Forest recruit, one of the top left-handed pitchers in the Midwest, currently ranked No. 3 in the state’s senior class, standing at 6-foot-1, 214 pound with strength throughout the frame. Got the start on the mound in front of multiple pro scouts in a big pitching matchup against Kussow. Struck out five batters across four scoreless innings, walking one batter, allowing one hit, filled up the with four pitches, running his fastball up to 92 mph early while working in the 88-91 mph bucket throughout. Spun two different breaking balls, a curveball at 74-76 mph with feel to land and an upper-70s slider with two plane action, showed a changeup at 83-84 mph.
Decommitted from South Carolina.
Brennecke was the first of a few impressive arms the Racoons rolled out there on Friday. Out of simple and repeatable delivery, the southpaw sat 87-91 mph in his start, running it up to 93 mph on one pitch in the third inning. Off of his lively fastball, Brennecke spun in a sharp 1/7 breaking ball in the mid-70s for called strikes and also whiffs outside of the zone. Rounding out his productive three-pitch mix was a fading changeup in the low-80s that featured some late depth and proved to be an out-pitch he used to righties. Brennecke finished his illustrious outing with five strikeouts over 3.1 innings and failed to allow a hit, too. A high-level arm in the state’s junior class.

LHP Ryan Brennecke (Oconomowoc, 2025) was a standout at the event, the lone lefty to reach the 90 mph mark on Saturday. The South Carolina commit worked 89-91 with the fastball with life and run through the zone. His breaking ball showed a 1/7 shape with late depth and the ability to land for a strike. Brennecke’s repertoire also featured a low/mid-80s changeup with fade and depth, thrown at the same arm speed with the ability to land for strikes. Brennecke has a methodical delivery for the lefty, with a balanced leg lift and athletic movement downhill. It’s a quick arm with a full arm circle to a high-¾ slot to generate velocity. Brennecke enters 2024 as a must-watch arm, one of the premier lefties in the state.
LHP Ryan Brennecke (Oconomowoc, 2025) was another arm that earned multiple appearances for Team Wisconsin down in Georgia, continuing to display an increase in velocity. Brennecke, standing at an athletic 6-foot-2, 189-pound frame, was a standout in the spring for Oconomowoc. After quality work throughout the summer, he earned his invite to LakePoint with Team Wisconsin. The current No. 1 left-hander in the Badger State’s 2025 class rushed his fastball up to 87.6 mph, jumping on batters in a quick fashion. While working efficiently on the bump, Brennecke flipped up a curveball and changeup to alter the pace, playing off of his heavy fastball usage. The arsenal that Brennecke presented in front of our staff was noteworthy throughout the three games of play, especially coming from the left side, projecting him as a name-to-know in the near future.
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-2, 189-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned frame with projection.
Delivery: Up tempo, tall and fall delivery, toe lands on-line.
Arm Action: LH. Clean, quick arm, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T83, 82-83 mph. Plays with some arm-side run. T1891, 1848 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. 12/6 action. T2157, 2101 average rpm.
SL: 68-72 mph. 1/7 break, finds around the zone. T1795, 1746 average rpm.
CH: 76-77 mph. Fade and depth with the pitch. T1564, 1504 average rpm.
LHP Ryan Brennecke (Oconomowoc, 2025) is a strong 6-foot-2, 190-pound sophomore southpaw who has impressed our staff on several occasions already, as a competitive strike-thrower with upside. He looked good again on Saturday, sitting 82-83 mph, with hard arm-side life that he locates well. The changeup is already an out-pitch, tunneling exceptionally well off his fastball with late fade that added to its deception. Brennecke also showed improved feel for a short breaking ball that should grow into a reliable third pitch for him. The feel three-pitch mix, above-average control for his age, and his left-handedness contribute to his status as a top-20-ranked with an arrow up still.
