Florida Class of 2021 Rankings Update

Two weeks ago, we updated the Class of 2020 rankings, which was loaded with talent throughout the entire class. The Class of 2021 is starting to shape the same. Front-line starters, two-way prospects, and impact bats from both sides of the plate. This 2021 class is peaking at the right time as they get ready to head into their senior summer. The top of the rankings remain the same as Calvary Christian Academy teammates Andy Painter (Florida) and Irving Carter (Miami) continue to showcase their front-line starter capabilities. They each have electric stuff with fastballs in the mid 90’s and should see that velo continue to increase as they head into their senior years.
No. 3 remains the same as well with the top two-way prospect in the class Jackson Baumeister (Bolles, Florida State). Baumeister, a C/RHP has a chance to make a huge two-way impact at the next level. Low 90’s fastball with an impact bat and well above average defense tools will help him continue to succeed at the next level.
At No. 4 is where things change as RHP Brandon Neely (Spruce Creek, Florida) has made a big jump this spring. It started at the PBR Florida Preseason Classic where Neely dominated a talented Miami Christian lineup and continued that throughout the spring. Really projectable at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds. Neely has been 91-93 with the fastball with an above-average breaking ball.

Rounding out the top five is OF Matthew Prevesk (Apopka, Florida). Prevesk has made a big jump in these rankings over the last year. A 6.6 runner, Prevesk has a dynamic toolset with the ability to spray the ball all over the field from the left side.
Outside of the top five, there have been several players that made significant jumps in the updated 2021 rankings. OF Michael Robertson (Venice, Florida) makes a jump to No. 6 as he has made an impact all over the field with his hit/run combo throughout the year. RHP Tyler Dietz (Calvary Christian, USF) has been up to 94 mph this spring with feel for the slider. He moves up to No. 9. SS Drake Varnado (Arkansas) joins the rankings after coming over to IMG Academy from Texas. He slides in at No. 11. OF Jay Allen (John Carroll, Florida) has made a jump to No. 12 with his elite athleticism and impact bat. Lastly, OF Corey Robinson (Spruce Creek, Florida) makes a jump into the top 20 at No. 14 after a strong start to his spring including a standout performance at the PBR Florida Preseason Classic.
