RHP Charlie Caroselli (Providence Catholic) has long been a performer in front of our staff, and the State Games were no different. Caroselli is a high-pitchability right-hander standing at a high-waisted and athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pounds. In his two innings of shutout work, he only allowed one hit while punching out two. He controlled the zone with an arm-side running fastball that worked up to 78 mph. He also had feel for the zone with both of his offspeed offerings; an 11/5 slider at 63-65 mph with feel to spin (avg. 2357 rpm), and a 71 mph changeup.

Pitched in relief on Saturday. Throws out of a hybrid windup and has a controlling presence on the mound. Mixed up hitter timing with differently timed deliveries. Showed above--average fastball command on both sides of the plate, topping out at 72 mph, sitting 70-71 mph. Has an above average breaking ball that had a 10/4 shape that he threw in all counts. Showed a clean arm and has plenty of room to fill out.

Delivery: Deliberate, simple delivery, quick leg kick, works directionally in line.
Arm Action: RH. Long, clean arm action, over the top slot.
FB: T73, 72-73 mph. Two seam type, in the zone. T1870, 1588 average rpm.
CB: 61-63 mph. Sharp bite, 11/5 movement. T2142, 2033 average rpm.

RHP Charlie Caroselli (N/A, 2027) impressed in his bullpen, working with a mature presence, fluid, simple, controlled delivery and all kinds of feel for his repertoire, especially given his age. The arm works clean and loose out of a ¾ slot while commanding his low-70s fastball (83% strikes). He complimented that with two future above-average secondary offerings, a curveball and an advanced changeup. His changeup plays with arm speed, feel (83% strikes) and T17.6 inches of horizontal movement. He will be one to keep an eye on down the road, as his floor to pitch is already highly-advanced for his age.

Delivery: Simple, hybrid, controlled delivery, tall and fall down the mound, controlled balanced finish, has a chance to develop an above-average three-pitch repertoire down the road.

FB: T72, 70-71 mph. Commanded the zone out of the stretch, works mostly straight. T1882, 1794 average rpm.
CB: 58-59 mph. Big action and depth, tight spin, 11/5 shape. T2135, 2017 average rpm.
CH: 61-62 mph. Advanced offering for age, sells the pitch, feel for the zone and late tumble. T1539, 1338 average rpm.

Hit: RHH. Balanced setup. Toe-tap trigger into a short stride. Long arms through the zone, level path with a pull-side approach.

Arm: RH. INF - 67 mph. Short and loose arm actions, carry.
Defense: Glove plays out front, clean transfer.
Run: 8.24 runner in the 60.
