2021 lefty who has committed to Arizona. Challenged hitters with mostly a two-pitch mix, tunnelling a swing/miss 71-72 mph curveball with an 85-88 mph fastball. Good depth on the breaking pitch with spin rates 2100-2250 rpm while the fastball had average armside action. As he’s routinely done this summer, Orloff easily navigated the opposing lineup, allowing just one hit in 2.2 IP with four strikeouts.

Another big “winner” from the ProCase, Orloff entered uncommitted, but attracted plenty of interest soon afterwards. A fair athlete with some arm strength, the 6-foot-3, 205 pound loose-armed lefty struck out the side during his 13-pitch appearance with a sneaky 88-89 mph fastball and effective 69-70 mph curveball. From a high three-quarter slot he spun his fastball up to 2,125 rpm, averaging 2,015. His breaker spun to the plate in a similar range, but was thrown from nearly 5” lower than his fastball release point. Orloff recently committed to Arizona.

Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, lifts and turns to close front side, regular effort, high front side, lands closed and creates angle.
Arm Action: LH. Loose, lively arm action, works out of high 3/4 slot, above average arm speed.
FB: T89, 88-89 mph. Lively finish, works with late run and sink to arm side, above average control of the zone.
CB: 71-72 mph. Sharp action with depth, 1/7 shape, fastball arm speed, dropped for strikes.
CH: 78-79 mph. Straight change showed occasional sink action, deceptive arm speed, tough angle.

2019 Future Games: 6-foot-2, 190-pound, extra-large, wide-shouldered, strong, left-handed pitcher. Delivery works across his body, high-front side, creates a lot of deception and an uncomfortable look for a hitter. Arm is clean and quick from a high slot. Fastball, advanced tilt when thrown at the bottom of the zone, mostly straight, sat mostly 86-87 mph during his first inning of work at the event. Mixes in a big bending curveball, slurvy, 1/7 shape, 68-70 mph. Stuck out two in his first inning of work on the week. High-upside left-handed pitcher.

6-foot-2, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, durable build with present lower half strength, young look. Tempo in delivery, heel lift balance, works across body, toe lands closed, smooth rhythm with an athletic finish. Arm plays short and super loose, easy arm speed, clean over the top slot. Feel for the dirt circle. Fastball worked to his gloveside, cut at times, up in the stretch, sat 82-83 mph, topped 84 mph. Curveball, 1/7 shape, early break out of the hand, 62-65 mph. Feel for a changeup, vertical depth with fastball deception, 75-76 mph.

6-foot-1, 185-pound, left-handed pitcher; strong, athletic, durable build, young look. Smooth delivery, high front side, works across his body, creates deception, lands closed. Arm action projects; clean, loose, quick arm action from a high slot. Fastball, comes out of the hand clean, plays up, late, heavy action, occasional run, sat 79-81 mph. Curveball, 1/7 shape, around it at times, potentially could back foot right-handed hitters, 62-64 mph. Changeup, swing-and-miss potential, feel for the zone, sinking action, arm-side-run at times, 72-74 mph. Follow 2021 prospect.  

6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed pitcher, thick build for age, still maturing physically, projectable build. Works from a slot, long, loose arm action, clean draw. Tall and fall delivery, works across body, strides towards first base. Slow rhythm, mixes looks. Struggles to repeat delivery, but given age and experience should gain consistency. Showed composure, worked out of several difficult situations. Fastball, gets on top, heavy, 77-80. Curveball, slurve-like action, depth and feel for, 60-64. Changeup, thrown aggressively, fade action, 75-76. Picked up a no-decision against Lake Forest, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits, while striking out 11 and walking two.

6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed pitcher, sloped shoulders, young thick build for age, loose actions. Delivery works across his body, tall and fall type, little effort, creates rhythm in hands and repeats. Arm action is clean, loose and easy at release, highly projectable, high slot. Fastball topped at 79 mph, ranged 74-78 mph, slight arm side run and feel for the zone. Curveball has depth and feel, 1/7 action, dropped for strikes, 58-61 mph. Changeup controls the zone, fading action, good feel and deceptive arm action, 68-70 mph.
