Oklahoma State signee. Jones helped add to the Mustangs’ comeback win, going 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs, one run scored and a walk. His home run was a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to propel them to a Regional Title win.
Oklahoma State commit. Currently ranked No. 13 in the state, No. 387 nationally. Batted out of the two-hole for the Mustangs and was on the barrel throughout the game. Jones stands in at a physically imposing 6-foot-2, 233-pounds and was a standout defensively as well. At the plate, he has an evident swagger in the box with a wider setup, a rhythmic load onto his backside with a strong lower half. His swing is powerful and quick through the zone, allowing for consistent hard contact; Jones finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate. Defensively, Jones was the apparent vocal leader on the field behind the dish; he was in constant communication with his battery mate throughout the game, with words of encouragement while also pushing the pitcher to execute pitches in key spots in the game. He showed off a strong arm in between innings, but did not get to show it off in-game. Jones also displayed a consistent willingness to block, being a wall back behind the plate for his pitcher. Jones was a participant this winter at the Super 60 Pro Showcase.
SUPER 60: Oklahoma State commit, has long been one of the top catchers in the class. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound, physical, broad-shouldered, durable right-handed hitter has long swung a potent middle-of-an-order type of bat and continued to do so at the Super 60. Jones has a physical presence in the box with all kinds of bat strength and a direct swing with power to both gaps. Throughout his two rounds it looked like he made a conscious effort to use the middle of the field and hit the ball where it was pitched. It's a heavy, loud barrel that averaged 92.5 mph off the bat, peaking at 99.7 mph with a max batted ball distance of 360’. Defensively his arm has made huge strides since the beginning of his high school career, now topping at 84 mph from the crouch with a loose arm stroke and occasional carry to the throws. Defensively, he has loose wrists with soft hands at times and has a chance to stick behind the plate moving forward. One of the more physically intriguing prospects in the class.
Decommitted from Illinois State.
C Sir Jamison Jones (St. Rita, 2024; Illinois State commit) continues to look the part as a premier power bat in the state. Easy jump off the barrel with a simple load, fires through the zone with strong hands and a flat path with easy power to all fields. Vocal leader behind the plate, strong hands that work to present the ball around the zone. Clean catch/throw operation with accurate throws on the bag between innings.
Illinois State commit. Jones was a big part of the Mustangs 4-0 week after going 9-for-12 (.750) at the plate with three doubles, 10 RBIs, three walks, and no strikeouts. In their 11-1 win over Brooks, he went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. He added two hits with two doubles, one of which was a game-tying double in the sixth inning, two RBIs, and a walk in their 8-7 win over St. Ignatius. Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs in their win over Simeon.
Season Stats:

Illinois State commit. Currently ranked No. 17 in the state. Physical, 6-foot-2, 215-pound build, continues to advance his frame with muscle, appearing to be leaner since our last look. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has advanced bat-strength, especially for this age - seemingly flicking a ball to the opposite field for a double in his first at-bat. He’s always been a vocal leader behind the plate, and his defense looks to be trending upwards - showing improved hands while receiving with a hop to his step, also flashing a well above-average arm down to second. High-level 2024 backstop that profiles in the middle of the order at the next level.
C Sir Jamison Jones (St. Rita, 2024) stood out amongst his peers at the event. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Illinois State commit walks into the park with a build of a uniform mannequin, he’s extremely physical with strength throughout his frame. Jones was electric with the bat and on defense. Offensively, he was towards the top of a number of statistical categories; his furthest ball traveled 388’ and his hardest batted ball left the bat at 100.3 mph. Jones has a smooth, strong swing with advanced bat speed and power while showing the ability to cover the whole plate and use the entire field. Defensively his hand speed and arm strength are advanced for his age. His glove to hand exchange is lightning quick and one of the best we’ve seen on the circuit this year. His throws were online and accurate with life and carry through the target. His best pop time was 1.95. It will be fun to watch this talented backstop continue to ascend over the next few years.
Jones is a large 6-foot-2, 215-pound catcher who was a force at the plate for the Chicago White Sox Ace on Thursday. In three at-bats, the catcher walked, hit a single, and drove a triple to the right-center gap to drive in a run. Quick barrel, shows quality whip in his bat path. Has patience at the plate, and the ability to drive the ball to any part of the field, as illustrated by his two base hits on Thursday.
Illinois State commit, currently ranked No. 26 in Illinois’ class of 2024. Physical 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, right-handed hitting catcher. Wide, balanced setup, minimal pre-pitch action, loads into the back leg, short stride. Strong, athletic hands, repeatable swing, power swing to the pull side, gap-to-gap approach. Behind the plate, Jones showed soft hands when receiving pitches, athletic stance with runners on, smooth footwork, quick exchange. Jones threw a runner out stealing second and back picked a runner at second.
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-1, 210-pounds. Athletic build. Strong lower half
Hit: RHH. Wide base, squared, open toe stance; loose hands pre-pitch. Strong hands, short and direct to the ball, jumps off the barrel at times, minimal wasted movement throughout. Drove balls to both gaps with authority.

Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. Loose, clean arm action. Over-the-top slot.
Defense: 2.06-2.14 pop times. Balanced. Soft hands, quick exchange.
Run: 7.46 runner in the 60. Light footed runner. Easy.
St. Rita sophomore Jones continued to show the direct, strong (95.4 mph max exit velocity) right-handed swing we have seen in-game in the past. Jones stays compact, repeatable and flashes a heavy barrel with gap-to-gap tendencies. Defensively, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound strong-bodied catcher showed some of the softest hands of the crop of catchers and a clean, repeatable transfer. Jones has a short arm action, and creates downhill tilt to second base with true four-seam carry and topped at 76 mph with a low pop time of 2.06.
Positional Profile: C
Body: 5-9, 185-pounds. Strong frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, leg lift, long stride. Strong swing, efficient bat path, advanced bat speed with a max of 75.7 MPH, line drives.
Power: 94.76 max exit velocity, averaged 82.08 mph. 324’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 72 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 arm slot, accurate throws.
Defense: 2.18-2.28 pop times. Natural catching actions, quick feet/exchange.
Run: 7.73 runner in the 60.
C Sir Jamison Jones (St. Rita) is a strong-handed hitter from the right side. For a freshman, he put up impressive exit velos with several measured over 90 mph. It’s a compact swing that stays short and on top of the baseball, driving his best batted-ball over 324 feet up the middle of the diamond. Behind the plate, Jones featured some of the softest hands on the day. He is a quiet receiver with athletic catcher actions and he showed off much improved arm strength since his performance at the 2024 Top Prospect Games this past summer.
Positional Profile: C
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Durable build with strength in lower half.
