The Hoosiers commit was a spark for New Trier out of the leadoff spot last week going 8-for-13, with one walk, one triple, two home runs, six RBIs, seven runs, and two stolen bases. One of the homers was a lead off homer against a top ranked team in Oregon (Thurston).
OF, Trey Meyers, New Trier, 2025 Indiana commit, currently ranked No. 12 in the state. Impressive 6-foot-6, 223-pound frame with clear strength and athleticism. Started at first base and hit leadoff, finishing the day 3-for-4 with two runs scored. The big right-handed hitter has shown loud tools in the past with big power from his swing, and he showed discipline at the plate in this look, not chasing out of the zone and making quality swing decisions, covering the plate while also seeing spin and adjusting to off-speed. Impressive physical specimen that could garner some pro interest as the spring goes on.

Body: 6-6, 218 pounds. Strong, imposing frame with present strength throughout.
Hit: RHH. Balanced upright setup, slight load onto backside, rhythmic hands load, utilizes strong lower-half. Easy strength, flatter path, works to stay on top of the ball, feel to use the whole yard with strength. 75.9 mph bat speed with 12g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 101 mph max exit velocity (93.1 avg.); 374-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 89 mph. Quick, compact arm action, over the top slot.

Vizual Edge: 77.56 Edge Score.
OF Trey Meyers (New Trier; Indiana commit) stands out physically with his 6-foot-5, 214-pound frame, and he has some eye-opening upside still left in the tank. He uses his levers to create easy power and bat-speed (70.6 mph avg), and his power projects as he continues to fill out. In this look, he had a clear intent to keep the ball on a line, working up to 93.9 mph for his max EV. He moves extremely well for his size, cruising to a 6.58 in the 60 with a max run speed of 21.1 mph, also recording a 29.8” vertical. Fluid footwork in the outfield with steady hands, plays through the ball with intent. Moves well into a crow hop, topping out at 89 mph with life out of the hand. High-upside name to know.
Verbally committed to Indiana University.
