Parkland Scout Day: 3/4 slot lefty with high-spin tailing 87-88 mph fastball. Best pitch was above average 73-74 mph changeup, good tail with depth. Loose spin, slow rolling slider at 71-74 was third pitch. All pitches released from same slot. Good extension out front.

+ The Oswego East HS (IL) 2020 tandem of LHP Tyler Heidkamp (uncommitted) and RHP Connor Gill (Central Michigan commit) helped suppress KBC’s offense in Chicago Scout Association’s game Saturday afternoon. Heidkamp started the contest, sitting at 80-83 mph early while mixing in a deceptive changeup that earned some empty hacks. Gill relieved him and showed off a lively three-pitch mix, including his 83-86 mph fastball that touched 87-88 mph a few times. Though, it’s his feel for his changeup and curve that had him record four Ks in his first two innings of work.

5-foot-10, 160-pound left-handed pitcher, lean athletic frame, sloped shoulders. Rotational delivery, arm action is long, firm swing, work out of ¾ slot. Sling arm action creates lateral action at times at the top of the zone. Fastball sat 83-85 mph, touched 86 mph, lived up and got swing and miss, occasional run/finish. Changeup is best secondary pitch, 72-75 mph, flashed fade/sink to arm side. Final line: 6IP, 1ER, 5H, 6K, 2BB.

2/10/19 - 5-foot-10, 160-pound left-handed pitcher, average frame. Pitchable southpaw, delivery has tempo, lands square, tall and fall type. Arm action is long and loose, high ¾ slot, above average arm speed. Fastball showed improved velocity, touched 86 mph, sat 83-84 mph, played firm with run to arm side, above average control. Slider plays 2/8, gradual action, 72-74 mph. Throws changeup with fastball arm action, 72-75 mph.

7.24.17 - 5-foot-8, 145-pound left-handed pitcher with an athletic frame. Works from a ¾ arm angle with a long, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort working in line with home plate. Square landing with smooth rhythm. Fastball has slight running action at 80-82 mph, works in on hitters. Curveball has short sweeping action at 69-71 mph. Changeup sat 68-72 mph. Had a clean inning striking out two in game. 

2.20.17 - 5-foot-7, 150-pound, lanky, projectable left-handed pitcher, should continue to see physical development. Has good feel and command for all three pitches. Works from a ¾ arm slot, with a long arm action and quick arm speed. Tall and fall delivery, maintains good balance, pitches with easy effort, smooth rhythm. Keeps shoulders closed, works on-line, lands open and finishes in an athletic positon. Fastball had run and sinking movement, clocked at 75-77 mph, topped out at 78 mph. Curveball, 12/6 shape, late action, thrown with near fastball arm speed, clocked at 65-66 mph. Changeup, thrown with near fastball arm speed, fading movement, clocked at 67-68 mph.

10.23.16 - 5-foot-7, 130-pound, lanky, two-way prospect. On the mound, left-handed pitcher, tall and fall delivery, easy effort, smooth rhythm, lands open. Long, loose, quick arm action from a high ¾ angle. Fastball, slight arm side run, sat 74-77 mph, touched 78 mph. Curveball, 1/7 shape, 61-63 mph. Changeup, occasional fade, tendency to slow arm, 57-60 mph. Defensively, soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, plays through the baseball. Long, loose arm action from a high ¾ slot, throws flashed accuracy and carry; clocked at 80 mph from the outfield. Offensively, right-handed hitter, pull-side approach, level path through the zone; exit velocity registered at 76 mph. Balanced setup, short stride. 7.94 runner in the laser timed 60.
