+ The Oswego East HS (IL) 2020 tandem of LHP Tyler Heidkamp (uncommitted) and RHP Connor Gill (Central Michigan commit) helped suppress KBC’s offense in Chicago Scout Association’s game Saturday afternoon. Heidkamp started the contest, sitting at 80-83 mph early while mixing in a deceptive changeup that earned some empty hacks. Gill relieved him and showed off a lively three-pitch mix, including his 83-86 mph fastball that touched 87-88 mph a few times. Though, it’s his feel for his changeup and curve that had him record four Ks in his first two innings of work.

6-foot, 170- pound right- handed pitcher, lean athletic frame. Drop and drive delivery, long, loose arm action, with some effort, at a high ¾ arm slot. An electric arm with a three pitch mix of a fastball, slider, and changeup. Fastball sits between 84-88 mph, topping out at 89 mph. A slider with 11/5 shape at 70-75 mph, and a changeup at 78-81 mph. Threw a complete game shutout in action against North Star Navy. Final line: 4IP, 0ER, 1H, 7K, 2BB.

2/10/19 - 6-foot-0, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, lean athletic frame, wiry and loose. Delivery has effort through release, tall balance point, toe down, swings into squared landing. Arm action is long and loose, quick arm, over the top slot. Fastball action is straight, four seam type, occasional tilt and life through the zone, sat 85-87 mph. 12/6 curveball, early action at times, 71-73 mph. Changeup runs to arm side, fastball arm speed, controlled the zone, 80-82 mph.

5.14.18 - 6-foot, 150-pound right-handed pitcher, lean slender build, loose limbs and actions, long lower half. Long deliberate leg lift, hides on backside, loose live arm out front, over the top slot. Pitched backwards often, curveball had sharp action at times, 11/5 with depth, best control pitch in this outing, used in hitters counts, 70-74 mph. Fastball showed life when down in the zone, good finish, arm side run, most misses pulled to glove side, touched 88 mph, sat 85-87 mph.

2.18.18 - 6-foot, 150-pound two-way player, lean projectable frame, projects best on the mound. Tall and fall delivery, lifts to balance point loaded at top, works on line. Arm action is quick, long draw, plunges on back side, over the top slot. Fastball is straight, gets late life through the zone, sat 86-87 mph, touched 88 mph. Curveball plays 12/6, near fastball arm speed, 69-71 mph. Straight changeup occasionally cuts, showed feel, 75-77 mph. Left-handed hitter, slightly open setup, arm bar load, short stride. Path has slight lift, 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is long and over the top, 89 mph from the outfield. Plays through with clean exchange.

7.24.17 - 6-foot, 145-pound left-handed hitting RHP/OF with a highly projectable frame. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm circle and hesitation on the backside. Arms works quick with regular effort. Tall and fall, slow paced delivery working in line with home plate. Square landing with an athletic finish. Fastball has tilt at 81-83 mph. Showed feel for curveball with 12-6 shape at 68-70 mph. Changeup has sinking action at 73 mph. Hides the ball well, tough to pick up curveball out of hand, gets swings and misses. Retired all four hitters he faced in his outing. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with an armbar load and average balance. Pull hitter with a long, uphill swing path. 89 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.57 runner down the line. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Threw 83 mph from the outfield. 

1.15.17 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed hitting RHP/OF with a lanky projectable frame. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, quick arm action and stab on the backside. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Smooth rhythm with good balance throughout delivery. Fastball was straight at 82-84 mph for strikes. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 65-67 mph. Changeup showed fading action at 73-75 mph. Defensively has a long, loose arm action from an over the top arm slot. Plays thru the ball with fluid footwork and soft hands. Threw 83 mph from the outfield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a low hand set and arm bar load. Gap to gap hitter with a long swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.57.

10.23.16 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound two-way prospect. Right-handed pitcher with a high upside. Quick, loose arm from an over-the-top slot. Tall and fall delivery with rhythm, stays on-line, finishes athletically and regular effort throughout. Fastball works mostly straight, occasional tilt, sat 79-82 mph. Curveball, thrown for strikes, down in the zone, 11/5 shape, late action, depth, 64-67 mph. Changeup, swing and miss potential, sinking action, thrown for strikes, maintains fastball arm speed, 73-74 mph. Offensively, left-handed hitter, present bat speed and consistent hard contact mostly to the pull side; registered an 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Balanced, wide setup, short stride, path stays flat through the hitting zone with good balance throughout. Defensively, advanced arm strength for age; clocked at 85 mph from the outfield. Quick arm from a high ¾ slot and throws carry with accuracy. Also, ran a 7.59 laser-timed 60.

9.21.16 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed pitcher, lanky, athletic build, projectable athlete. Athletic, clean, slow paced, smooth, deliberate, tall and fall delivery with minimal effort throughout; works online, lands square, athletic finish, some recoil. Highly projectable arm action; loose and quick out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball, feel for the zone, occasional life, run and tilt action when down in the zone, sat 80-81 mph, touched 82 twice. Feel for changeup, located down in the zone, near fastball arm speed, flashed fade action, 69-72 mph. Curveball, has potential to be quality offering; sharp action, flashed depth, 12/6, 11/5 action, lacked feel on this day, missing down in the zone, 65-68 mph. High follow 2020 right-handed pitcher.
