Arm: RH. INF-84 mph.Short, compact arm action w/ some quickness.
Defense: Fluid footwork w/ soft hands. Shows the ability to play one-handed. Good body control
Run: 7.00 runner in the 60.

Position: SS/3B

Body: 6-foot, 180-pound athletic build.

Hit: (LHH) Solid. Begins in a tall stance with a smooth low load, then uses a short controlled stride. Efficient bat speed. Good extension on his balanced finish, short upward swing. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 86 mph exit velocity, average 71.9 mph. 56.9 mph bat speed average. 20.1 mph hand speed average.

Defense: (IF) Soft hands, fluid footwork, packing exchange. Athletic.

Arm: 84 mph infield velocity. Quick arm action, an-over-the-top slot.

Speed: 7.10 (60-yard).

Though he did not fill out the stat line, VanderWoude more than looked the part at the plate while hitting from the left side. The highly-athletic, 6-foot, 160-pound shortstop loads up on the back side from a crouched position before quickly working the barrel through the zone on a flat path with some lag in the zone. There is fluidity to the load, and he showed signs of working gap-to-gap. Definitely a player in the 2024 class to follow.
