Sturdy build with broad shoulders and a strong lower half, listed at 6-foot-2, 215-pounds. Defense first backstop that caught all three games this weekend, strong arm, throws play with carry out of the crouch, clean exchange, and high-¾ release. Feet work in rhythm, body works in control letting his arm do the work, 1.94 and 2.06 pop times in-game, both on the bag with carry. Solid receiver with some bend in the hips, able to handle pitches to his arm side, gets beat on pitches to his glove-side at times. Willing blocker, showing the ability to block and recover, limiting base running opportunities. Encourages his arms to work down, even with runners on. The right-handed hitter is balanced with a rhythm load, rocking back, flat path, working to create line drives through the middle and to the pull side. Has improved his ability with two strikes to recognize and cover the slider away. Defense first profile that will carry his status as a draft prospect.

Cape Cod: Over two seasons at UNCW, Arendt is batting a combined .263/.366/.429, and this summer, he batted .255 in 94 at-bats. With a 6-foot-2 and 215-pound frame, he has plenty of raw power but will need to improve his hit tool and plate discipline to tap into more of it. His standout tool, however, is a 70-grade throwing arm that helps him put up sub-2.00 pop times to second base.
8/15/22
Cape Cod: A key recruit for UNCW who missed time due to a broken foot as a freshman this spring, putting him behind the 8-ball in the Cape League. But he gradually found his timing and made harder, more consistent contact as the summer progressed. At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Arendt is plenty physical and has a chance to hit as he gets more reps. His standout tool is a plus-plus arm behind the plate, and he's a good blocker but his receiving still needs more polish.
