The top 2025 Position player in the state in this scouts opinion, regardless of others that may have committed and played for team USA. The upside of this kid is that of a HIGHLY athletic, lean long and twitchy 3 sport star with abv avg movement patterns. Park was first spotted at the Fall Prospect ID last November at Snow Canyon HS, and I’ve been squarely in this kids corner since. Was seen by every school in the state at the Top Prospect Games, July 12th at Pleasant Grove HS. Austin is skinny w/lean wiry strength and pound for pound strong, while oozing projection w/added weight/strength to come. The setup is semi wide w/a slight crouch and his bat held at a 45-degree angle. He shows hand and bat speed and the ability to sit back and recognize off speed mistakes and flashes HR power to the pull side now. Defensively he can play SS/CF and make each position look very natural. At SS he shows glove and athletic actions with soft hands and plays through the baseball. His arm is strong and accurate with 83 mph throws across the diamond and 85 from the OF. The arm is very loose and fluid and I can see upper 80’s across the INF and 90 from the OF over the next 2-3 years. Already has 2 D1 offers!

One of my picks to click on the HS scene this year is Park. A very good athlete with smooth actions and a whippy clean and fluid arm stroke, Park can get off online accurate throws for the OF and I saw him opening weekend at SS as well. He is smooth and sure handed and confident to his backhand as he made a nice play to his right and fired a strike to 1B and made it look easy. He also threw 4 innings on opening night in relief and K out 9 batters. It’s too early to tell where his future lies at a grounded position, as he is athletic and can make them look as though each is his primary position. With EV’s at 88-89, the strength will come as he is skinny and projectable. The 60 time of 7.2 should only get faster as he has a galloping long stride and gets out of the box well. As he gains lower ½ leg strength and matures, look for all his metrics to jump. But the hands, feet, athleticism, loose arm and confident approach in the box, suggests a next level player for sure in 3-4 years.

11/20/21

Austin is a tall skinny athletic kid, with considerable upside and wiry overall strength. Showed well for a 14 yr old young player and doesn't turn 15 until summer '22. One of the better players at the Fall Prospect ID, which earned him an invite to the Preseason All-State event. A freshman at a very strong 3A HS program, Park has the ability to leave the park to the pull side and plays in the summers for the UCBA Barons Head Coach, Jeremy Thomas (Former 12 yr pitching coach at Dixie State/BYU). Austin has big hands and feet, with considerable room for another 30-40 lbs at maturity. Defensively showed educated feet in his approach to the baseball, with a loose, clean and fluid arm stroke. Can one hop his target now and should have an avg to abv avg arm from CF in short order. Offensively he has a clean pure RH hitting stroke, that gets to a solid position at launch, while driving his hands inside and through the baseball. The swing is on line and takes a direct path to the baseball, with a repeatable stroke. A 3 sport (Football, Basketball, Baseball) athlete, that should develop into a quality player, possibly a D1 player within the next couple of years. Definitely keep an eye on this kid!
